much is a leap from i7-3610QM to i7-4910MQ ?
7970m to R9 M290X or even 880m? how big of a leap? or should i just keep on waiting?

No point in and upgrade to the amd card when it is actually the same GPU as you have already, just slightly higher clock frequency. Gtx880m there are lots of problems = NO.
None of them. :hi2:

4910MQ over 3610QM is about 24% faster at most. Will you notice this in everyday use or games? No.
Only benchmarks and heavy cpu bound games will show a difference. Most gpu bound games will not have much of a difference (1-3fps difference maybe?)
As for upgrading the 7970m to dual 880ms, not worth it. As mentioned in your other thread, wait until the 980M and 970M are announced. Those will most likely offer 3-4x the performance of your 7970m setup. The 980M should be about 2x faster than a single 7970m, so one 980M would be around the same speed as your 7970m crossfire setup and two would be 2x faster than your 7970m setup. -

Simply not worth any investment.
The 980M or 970M will not be 3x as fast as his card even when highly overclocked. -
I said one 980M should be 2x faster than a 7970m and two 980M would be 3-4x faster. So two 980M would be 2x faster than two 7970m
HOw big of a leap, FROM 7970m to R9 M290X or even 880m? and processors?
