Anyone been able to get HWmonitor to see temps other than CPU and TZ00 on the new M17 w/ 4850's?

I've tried everything I can think of :(

Meh, hopefully someone will figure it out soon, but i doubt it. Seems like a hardware issue and not software (drivers) since someone said the temps work with one card its probably an issue with the second card.

But to be honest if you can get a reading from one card the temp of the other card should be pretty much the same except if something is wrong with the paste etc.

No it does not work. That work around is only for GPUZ and Everest as these both crash if you open them with crossfire enabled.

Do those programs work properly if you disable the 2nd card before launching them ? If yes, what temps are you getting ?

Yeah you can get them working with crossfire disabled. Once open you can then re enable crossfire. So far I have not got past the mid 80's even playing crysis on very high.

Yeah funny old thing pretty much identical mate. Anywhere between high 70's and middle 80's. Just depended where I had the laptop sat and how hot the room was.

How are your temps so low? I got them working by disabling xfire and opening everest then re-enabling

I played COD4 for about 30 minutes and my temps are at 94C!

The vent in the back is blowing air so hot I cant keep my hand there for more than 5 seconds without it hurting too badly to move it..

    doesn't seem good

AW paste (since you ordered the system) VS the paste Marshall used which is most probably better :)

You should not NEED a cooler at all. Just prop up the back end and reapply the paste as soon as possible because 102 is horrible .

I'd get that paste replaced as soon as you can otherwise your cards are going to cook themselves.

I know that when I get my cards, I'll be applying come ICS7 or whatever it's called.

Yeah I used Arctic Cooling MX2 on mine. Damn good stuff. As far as coolers go I tried a couple and to be fair dont think they are worth the money you pay. Using the zalman I didnt even notice a temp change. Each to their own though.

For those using the Cryo with an M17/whitebook, recommend this mod to it to help hold it in place:

Puts the fans right where you need them and sort of locks the feet into the cooler so the laptop wont slide around

Which is the best cooler for an M17? I'd like one but not sure what to do for.

Well you saw the results I had with just the cryo, holes in cover, and good paste hehe

    a refresher for new comers:

This is after several runs of vantage, max temps are what i got during the runs.

Thats not too bad temps actually. But to be fair Vantage and 3dmark 06 never pushed my temps on my 3870's any higher than 71 or 72 with no mods at all. Not very taxing those two programs.

Well here is 06 with less holes, AS5 and no cryo. And Vantage runs much hotter than 06 does

So you be the judge ;)
