    Hi,

does somebody know what kind of harddrives alienware ships in the mx15? ( i assume they use the same in e.g. the mx17 so that would help as well). The vendor would allready be good for me all additional info is of course appreciated :)

    Thanks,
    menne

My personal advice would be to go for the smallest HDD (in capacity) from AW as they cost you a fortune for the same HDD which is available off newegg for cheaper price.

My m15x had 120gb Seagate 7200 RPM HDD, for which I guess I paid over $200. Days back I purchased another 500gb Seagate Momentus 5400.6 HDD for $99.9 from NewEgg.com

seems that they fixed the price thingy. right now they start with a 160gb 7200 drive and for 75$ more you get the 320 7200 rpm 16mb version. If they are offering a seagate momentaum 7200.3 in there which seems to be a common choice amongst poeple then the actual savings would be like 30 bucks under the assumption that you can get rid of the smallest one for a decent price. I have my doubt that it's worth the trouble ( order , replace , sell).
