Has anyone received their M17's lately?

Just checking to see if we've had any new owner's over the past week or two. I know during the first round of M17 shipments, we had a back order on parts that caused about 10-15 days of extra time to be added to the delivery. Just curious if we've got another delay of that nature.

I tried calling Roswell last week to get any back order/status updates, but hold times were an hour plus, so I didn't get to stick on the phone long enough to get a person.

As of an hour ago mine is in phase 8, it jumped from 5 today alone...

 

Interesting. I'm still on Phase 6. Guess I'll have to give them a call today and find out what the deal is.

 

That phase program was one of the worst ideas that Alienware has ever had. It has, however, doubled the amount of posts with questions regarding phases.

 

I could care less if it's acurate or not. I just want to see something to get excited about. F5 has been the gretest button on my keyboard for the last 2 weeks.

 

No, I agree with you. I did the same thing. I've been on this forum since the M17 debuted on November 3rd, and that phase system has caused a lot of undue heartache. It skips phases, goes back a few phases (user blacks-out at this point), then goes right back to the same phase. I think it took years off of my life span.

 

Mine has been in phase 8 since Dec 15. Yesterday I wrote to AW but no response until now.

My est shipping day was before Christmas

You HAVE to call them. They are more likely to help you during an actual phone call. An email can get deleted, lost, disregarded. Good luck to you my friend.

 

Yeah definitely call them on that one. The only thing is you get to see first hand the incompetence of some of the reps. I'm still trying to get 2 random extra billings credited back to my visa. They have sent me all over their call center to no avail. I CC'ed the president in my last email/phone call fiasco to add some weight to my request.

 

Maybe their getting serious about this tape on the GPU buissness...

 

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed. We've got one M17 that's doing amazing. The other one, we're still waiting on.

 

I ordered on December 15th and received my M17 on the 22nd.

 

That's strange. I ordered mine on the 14th, and had an ETA of 12/29. I've been sitting in Phase 6 since then. My spec's are identical to the one you posted FoxTrot.

Very strange. Guess it's time to make a call.

 

I ordered one on the 14th too, but I had to cancel because of some credit issues. I made a new order on the 15th and it arrived a day before the estimated delivery date.

But then again I'm in New Jersey, so Florida is pretty close.

 

Have you run 3DMark on your M17 foxtrot?

 

I'm in PA, so I'm your neighbor to the left. The first one got here really quick once it finally shipped

 

According to AW, my M17 got 3DMark scores of 12,559. After using my M17 for a week, I got 3DMark scores of 11810.

-This is on stock drivers, I have not used E-Wreck's driver yet.

 

AW answered that my system was shipped today (or will be?)
They say that tonight I will receive the tracking number from Fedex

So lets wait...

however... it has been almost a month since I ordered it...

 

I've been trying to get the time to call them here, but things have been nuts, so I haven't had a change yet. Grrr. Looks like I'll be calling tomorrow.

I dont really trust AW as far as 3dmarks go They said mine got 13.600+ and i barely got 13.100 after tweaking the system. So its not quite accurate.

I Ordered mine on the 10th and it was pretty stagnent in phase 1 for about a week, then it skipped to phase 6 one day, was there until dec 23 where it moved painfully to phase 7. Calling today I found out it indeed is in phase 7....and the weather there is nice. pretty much all i found out. Estimated ship date was Dec 22...maybe 2009?!? jk. Now i have to wait till jan 8 to even check on it due to a trip to tahoe...life is hard

 

Tempting to send an email to AW to tell them to remove the phase module

It's stressful to see the computer move so slowly through the phases module, but if they didn't do at least that i'm sure I would have stroked out somewhere near christmas

 

Just got off the phone with someone down there...they said they "didn't know" why the second M17 hasn't shipped. The guy was going to email a production manager to find out what's going on, and the product should ship out today with tracking information.

I've got a sneaking feeling that I won't see any tracking information on the laptop today, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

 

Sadly, you're probably right. More than one Alienware rep blatantly lied to me during my order process.

Since there seems to be a trend of folks only mentioning the bad stuff, I will say that there were two reps that had outstanding customer service skills.

 

Well, worst case scenario, is I start calling daily to find out the order status. I'm not afraid to call them since they're not so keen on contacting me!

I'm figuring this is going to require about 2-3 more phone calls before I'm able to get a solid answer. I'll just call daily between now and the time I actually get an official email notification on the shipping.

 

Thats bizarre. I got the SAME exact message, word for word from them yesterday. I ordered mine on the 26th. I hope its not delayed for very long!

 

no its back in stop i got the email from them saying out of stock and back in stock the same day lol they said it would ship out this week whoot

 

We were told last night that we would have a tracking number by the time we checked our email this morning. No tracking number.

I'll be calling again shortly to find out the status.

 

Yea, I just e-mailed them today and they got back to me a few hours later saying I'm in Phase 5 now and it should be ready to ship within 5 business days! I can't wait!

 

Contacted them on Tuesday, they said it would ship Tuesday night. Not shipped, so contacted them on Wednesday, they said it will ship Wednesday or Thursday, no shipping info yet. Contacting them again today to see what the hold up is.

 

Today's update...

"they" left early Wednesday and aren't in today, so call back Monday.

 

I've just placed my order, Phase 1 as of today.

 

Mine was shipped last 29th, but since 30th it has not departed from Orlando. Is Fedex working?

 

Latest update is the production manager's supposed to be making sure he personally sees to it that the machine is shipped this week.

Provided that it ships out by 1/9, then it's only 12 days past the original estimated ship date. I can deal with that.

 

well 7 days in phase 2 and now 8 days in phase 5 step 1 im gett ing mad i understand holidays but ughhhh my orginal ship date was jan 7 and its not gonna make it so we will see ive emailed today to see why it takes 8 days to build a computer.... wish me luck

 

Mine shipped today and it reports an estimated delivery for tomorrow before 12pm. I'm in Toronto so from Miami I guess that's pretty easy.

 

Just got my tracking info. Looks like it's set to deliver on Thursday. So Florida to Harrisburg PA that sounds about right.

Time to order the additional RAM.
