Dear Mr. (name),
Thank you for contacting Alienwares Electronic Support Department.
You may want to try and update the BIOS on your system. However, be advised that since improperly updating the BIOS can have permanent and fatal results, it is not covered under the provisions of the warranty. BIOS updating should always be one of the last things to consider when troubleshooting.
Be warned that, IMPROPERLY UPDATING OR FLASHING THE BIOS CMOS CHIP ON A MOTHERBOARD OR VIDEO CARD CAN DAMAGE IT TO THE POINT OF RENDERING IT USELESS. ACCORDINGLY, YOU SHOULD PERFORM BIOS UPDATES ONLY WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF AN ALIENWARE TECHNICAL SUPPORT AGENT BY THE PHONE. PERFORMING THIS BIOS UPDATE WITHOUT SUCH ASSISTANCE WILL VOID YOUR SYSTEMS WARRANTY.
I would urge you to contact our very knowledgeable and supportive Technical Support Team at 1-866-287-6727 (option 2) for a guided tour on any BIOS updating.
