Hey everyone.
I posted a comparison between a couple headsets on the Side Topic but I wanted to continue the decision I had made over here considering the hardware inside the M15x.
This is the hardware inside:
High-Definition 5.1 Surround Sound Audio
IDT 92HD83
24-bit (analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog)
dual 8-ohms speakers in both the left and right speaker assembly
up to 2 W per channel; up to 4 W total power
dual digital-array microphones in the display assembly
program menus and media control buttons
two audio output/headphone connectors and one audio input/microphone connector
The audio input/microphone connector also functions as an output connector in a 5.1-channel surround-sound speaker setup
I want to have a effective HEADPHONE. I will not be getting a mic on it. I will get a clip on Zalman. I do not want to sacrifice quality of audio for a microphone.
So I have the Sennheiser HD555 on order. My budget is $120 or less. I got them for $80. Since the sound card does support Surround...should I look at a 5.1 headset? Is the HD555 a good choice even with a surround sound supporting card?
I know nothing of audio so please help me.
Thanks!

why do not simply use the Alienware Tactx Headset, it comes free with any Alienware laptop. Also it is not bad.
