I bought my m17x-r1 when it first came out, now i was thinking of upgrading my video cards, i have atm the 8700 sli cards i would like to know whats the latest graphic cards i can use. now on the second question i just upgraded my windows from vista to windows 7 now every time i boot up i have to hit f8 and Disable driver signature enforcement, just to get into my desk top. If i don't do this procedure the laptop will go into repair mode and shut down. Anyway i can fix this problem??

You will probably have to figure out which driver does not have a digital signature (to skip the f8 part) and let windows boot without any problems - is that a x64 OS or x86?
And second , regarding the gpu, I will leave it to others since I don't know what to say. m17x is different from M17x?

I think your M17X is the last generation, which is produced by Alienware, not Dell. I don't think you can upgrade it any more. My advice, just sell it for couple hundred bucks and buy a new M17X.

Its a x64 os. i might have to give alienware a call or dell my command station doesn't have the option to light up the keyboard also. i wanna see if i can squeeze another year or two out this baby lol. while i'm at it i'll ask them about the gpu's. Myxcon where can i find drivers without digital signature?

Gonna wait another year or two before buying a new laptop, unless this one dies on me lol.

You need drivers WITH digital signature, so you don't have to disable signature check. Usually the drivers provided by Dell are signed (unless stated they are beta or otherwise), also check Nvidia website.

why would you need drivers for a hard drive? the os will always have these pre installed. i dont think this is an m17x, im pretty sure the m17x started with the 260gtx, its an m17 or a m9750. and you can put the 3870 x-fire setup for around $450 if you can find it in that machine. ive never seen an m17x with 8700, only the 9750s

You will never get your drivers if you keep searching there. Since Dell is taking everything over now, the support for old purely Alienware built machines is probably over.
