I found out there's a new option in video card customization on Alienware M15X.. It is "ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850" above "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M"
    I noticed that 5850 has a better GDDR5 while GTX260M has GDDR3.. And 5850 is using DirectX 11 while GTX260M is still using 10
but it's written that GTX260M got a CUDA and PhysX technology.. Well I don't even know what the heck are both of them :D but they said it makes GTX260M suitable for gaming
So which is better? 5850 or GTX260M??

The 5850 is likely the better choice.

If the ATI 5850 card is the GDDR5 version then take the 5850.

Cost to manufacture makes it more expensive. Those costs get passed on to the consumer. A lot of older cards even though they are less powerful than the newer cards end up costing more for us because it costs the companies more to manufacture them.

Get the 5850 for sure. You'll be getting around 20%-25% extra power out of it compared to a 260M.

CUDA and PhysX are both near-useless except for specific applications which you more than likely don't use.

5850 is the better choice; I would go with them.
The 260m was decent in its day, but its old stuff. PhysX and CUDA are awesome, too bad no one really uses them efficiently for gaming.

The 5850 and 260 are pretty close in terms of performance. Go with the 5850 because of DirectX11.

I'm getting the ATI 5850 (I'm a big ATI fan). I'm also getting a desktop with a 5850, lol. I'll run some graphics benchmarks and see if the desktop 5850 or the laptop 5850 is better.

The funny thing is I don't like AMD's processors even through ATI is part of AMD.
