Congrats, man! That's one hell of a system! All of the newer m15xs shipped so far that people in the forums got have been good, except for some keyboard problems for a few, but replacing the keyboard is really easy if worse comes to worse.

I'm guessing you spent around $2500 on that before shipping and taxes?
BTW, you can save a couple hundred by updating the RAM and the HD yourself.

very nice. yeah, definitely do RAM yourself, it's a pinch. HDD only if you know your way round computers, i was too intimidated by the whole OS reinstalling and flashing and booting you have to do.

Oh yeah, thanks for bringing that up. But is spending thirty minutes to restore worth $150 of your time for a no-name HD when you could get the same HD from any brand for $100-$150 less?

Yeah, I just realized that I phrased that wrong. I meant to say all of the newer notebooks that people in the forums got, they fixed and improved pretty much every issue in the newer m15xs.

Really??? Why are people still saying there is wobbliness? Why are people with extreme CPUs still experiencing overheating and downclocking? Why are people with the 8800GTX still seeing their GPU going above 100C? Why are people still unable to use the security lock?

People don't complain much because there is not criteria or basis for comparison. But believe me, the problems that were there... are still there.

milcs, please stay unbiased. we know you're quite upset over your m15x, but that doesn't mean there can be no good m15x's out there. think of all the people that don't come on here because they have no reason. although i might second your thoughts that there hasn't really been much improvement.

i dont think they improved anything. i think everything still stayed the same. the only reason it seems improved because i think some of the issues are kind of blown out of proportion. like the wobbliness issue, the wobbliness issue is not as bad as people make it seem. if you see a m15x in front of you, you will notice that some issues dont seem as bad as how people describe it.

Whizzo... I am completely staying unbiased here. And to clarify, I'm not upset at all with the problems my M15x had. I just don't think that I should allow people to come here saying something has been fixed, when it has not.

That's exactly what I think. The problems are there, but given they were made horror stories, people just get surprised when they don't see an horrible issue.

So, bottom line... No, nothing has been done to fix the minor and major problems the M15x has had. Simply, people are expecting much worse and so they say... it's OK and no problem exist. But... they are there. The flaws of manufacturing won't go away with an additional screwdriver.

And... I'm not trying to flame anything... I'm just trying to ask people (like Michaelis) not to come and say that they actually made something and worked on repairing hardware issues. Appart from the Bios, nothing else has been done.

Ask Groove... He had 2 M15xs already. He is the right person to judge on improvements and he says there aren't any. That's all I want people to realize...

    Appart from that...
Extracrunchy... I AM SURE you are going to love your M15x.
It's an amazing experience and, appart from the wobbliness the other issues are really minor and only people that are really demanding will notice them.
The only other thing that might go wrong (and I really hope it won't) is the GPU overheating. As it seems only very few people are still having this, I'm sure you will be fine and you will FULLY ENJOY your new toy.

I wish I had mine to enjoy it now... :(

Congrats! I ordered mine the 27th of June and its coming this friday. Exactly two weeks! Of course it didn't really feel like two weeks, felt like a year. Alienware shipped my Steelseries 5h v2 usb today though, so that can kill time. Congrats again!

Jeez Milcs, they still haven't set you back your rig?
That's far too long. That's currently also one of the big things keeping me away from the m15x besides the Clevo; as a college student, I can't afford to not have a laptop for well over a month and on another note, as an internet-addicted person, I couldn't bear it! lol.

I agree with the upgrading your HD & RAM by yourself, its much cheaper and with the extra cash you could spend on something much useful :D... i upgraded mine until 1TB LOLz :D :D :D
