    Sweet!

I also noticed that these 9.3 drivers apply to the 4XXX cards as well so maybe we'll have a head start on some good drivers when the 4870 comes out.

I thought they would support even the mobile ones? Like the W7 beta driver did? (I mean without mobmodding)

Hmm. You should all know by now that they gotta be modded :p whatever was changed in 9.2 means mobmod won't work unless you do the method posted in the 9.2 thread. I'm not gonna have a chance for a few hours.. Someone grab this bull by the horns.

Sorry to hear that. I don't think it will be long till someone with better driver knowledge than me gets this working.

As I posted earlier, they're going to have to be modded.

Hope you find a solution soon so we can see how these drivers perform.

Was there a difference with the 9.1 drivers then? Because i was a noob with this stuff (still am) and just downloaded mobmodder and the 9.1 desktop drivers, clicked the magic button and it all worked.

It looks like the device id in the inf file does not match , I changed it to 9591 from 9598 and i got a bit further and asked me if i wanted to use the driver as it was not verified, i still got an error and the display manager does not work.

EDIT : it looks like there is 2 inf files to mod, i got 0 errors this time but the display manager still does not work.

I am so dissapointed that the "new" W7 drivers are not compatible with the mobie ones :(

The 8.12 W7 beta version worked for the mobile ones as well ...

Forgive me but I am at a loss with these driver upgrades.

Total noob here so bare with me. How do you guys update your video drivers? I asked alienware and they said use the ones we provide but my cards have driver version 7.01. And what are the benefits of updating?

How do I perform the upgrade? One time I tried clicking on "check for updates" under the CCC and sent me to a site with 8.something drivers. I downloaded and installed but they went to another folder and didn't really work.

Care to educate or point me in the right direction?

I found a very nice guy on a windows 7 forum who edided the inf. that I can install the driver via hardware-manager (not sure wheather it's called like this^^)

ATM I am testing it, I still have the L4D multicore problem and no CCC ...

When it runs smoofe I'll ask him to give me the "right" to share it with you guys! (May be he can also make a Vista inf. version^^)

As far as I know he just wrote it wrong in the inf. ^^ But he will take a closer look^^ no Beta buggy crap :p

Safety first :D But good to hear it will work for Vista as well :)

    I just tryed L4D and it's amasing ... on Wi7 it's a big improofement^^ (I had the 8.12 W7 version)

Seeing all this driver "stress" kinda freaks me out. I have dual 3870's and my BRAND new 17 came running 8.52 and I see some people upgrade via the download and is fine and others cleaning out the registry before.

    Any simple advice?

When you download from ATI does it not come with an un-installer to prep for the new install? Usually these companies dummy proof it.

these are for 64bit Vista.. just download the ATI Drivers from here:
    http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx?driver=VideoCard/vista64-components

Download the CCC seperately from the same link.. install driver, then CCC.

Uninstall ATI drivers.. extract new ATI drivers and throw these 2 .infs inside the \9_3_vista64_win7_64_dd\Packages\Drivers\Display\LH6A_INF folder to replace the ones currently there.
    64bit Vista & Win7 infs

You will not need to mobmod. Now run the .exe and install video drivers.. may catch one error, just ignore. Don't reboot. Now install CCC. Done. Hope it works out :)

Oh, also..you can try downloading the full package and just replace the .infs - not sure which is better as I no longer can test. Anyhow, I gotta hit the sack. And, these drivers will be modded easier than the 9.2s. I'll get to work on it sunday. Feedback plz?
