It's actually one of the most asked questions about the M17x. I guess I'm not posting enough for people to remember my avatar. Maybe I'll change it tonight.

thnx guys it work! also i was just woundering how can i see all 4 cores? as i got the intel core 2 extreme q9300, where can i see all 4 cores processing? windows task manager wont show each core? im rly unsurehow to monitor multiple cores, as i had a single core all these years, up untill today that is =) *evil face*
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Are you talking monitoring the heat... or load on each processing core?
-
just the load, but wouldnt mind checking heat coz i know moo had 1 of his gpu fans wasnt working. i think hwmontitor does the heat? but is there a built in thing for the core processing? or do i need to set it to use all 4 or will the computer decide ( talking about while gaming, multi-tasking etc)
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Us HW monitor for you heat.... it will tell you everything... heat, fan speeds etc... as far as the load on each core... I think you'll have to google that
-
thnx biscuit, but do u know if the comp will always have 4 cores availble or u need to specifY?
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
No for general usage you will use all 4 cores... for multi-tasking... becuase it distributes the load equally to each core
-
don't know why you say taskmon is not showing all 4 cores for you, it shows them for me under the performance tab.
Quick run
The leprechaun is coming. -
Task manager will show you each core's performance on the Performance tab. You'll see four blocks each one is a different core and how much its being utilized.
Ideally yes, however if the program/game you're running isn't optimized for four cores, you will see this in task manager as two cores being utilized more then the other two. This isn't necessarily bad, as most programs today run fine on only two cores anyway, and the QX9300 has enough clock speed on two cores to handle just about anything. -
to late
-
oo so the 4 squares under cpu usage history is each core? if thats the case mines does show ;P
also can anyone please link me a download for the new hw monitor pls? thnx -
check out moo's thread.
