Just wondering if anyone here knows weather the Hinge issue with the M15x has been fixed? I just sent in my laptop for the first time to get it repaired and since im leaving to another country I was hoping someone will know weather they do a quick fix solution or they know how to fix it now? Thanks

It's really a manufacturing defect... not really going to get a permanent fix, you're just going to have the parts replaced.

Im pretty sure that the issue has been fixed... I had my hinge repaired on two different laptops, the 1st eventually died after only 3 months so I raised hell and got a new replacement laptop. But after the hinge repair on the second I have not had a single problem, and that was 5 months ago. I take the laptop to classes 3 days a week and it has not shown a single sign of the hinge issue returning.

So to sum this up, if you buy a new system, or yours is at least a few months old, I would assume that you wont have the issue...

i have had mine since september 2008 and so far the hinges seem really fine.. I only get the cracking sound from the screen itself, but i guess thats because of the material the screen's made of.. I do believe the hinges are working fine and will not become a problem..

i have creaking as well, but have not had any problems since getting fixed the 1st time.

as a precaution, i may use some contact paper to keep it together.

I had a seperation between the top of the lid and the black plastic on the front. It felt stable however, the space was still there so I just got some super glue and I let it fill the space and pressed it tight. It seems to be working 0.0 for now

Well I've had my hinge replaced twice (nov, feb), and this time it looks good, but since I got a netbook, I might open my m15x once a day, if that.
