How Long Phase 1? HELP

So I ordered the 17M now 48 hours ago and I am still in Phase 1. I call customer service and they are no help. They dont even understand what I am asking. Last time I called they sent me to the credit department. the credit department was like i dont know why they sent you here............i only ask because I have read on these forums of orders that were place the same day that are now out of Phase 1. Any ideas?

 

I don't really know what might be taking so long.ou should already be at, at least, phase 2. Anyways, you should try contacting [email protected] for more details as the order status page is usually very bugged. Another alternative is to contact Alienware-James or Alienware-Armando by sending them a private message. Hope this helps...

 

thanks I did send an email last night and it said that it could take 24 hours to respond i will PM the guys as well and see what happens. Thanks for the suggestion.

 

Have they called to confirm if you ordered it.
Also they might be going kinda slow since it seems alot of people have ordered a m17

 

well I received an email back that said it had to do with me using my alienware titanium account. Says it could take up to 8 days to verify. So i once again called spoke to financial services and they said everyting is completly fine on their end so they dont know why CS is saying that( it is not a new account I opened it 6 months ago). As usual the runaround........I dont know why companies like this cannot get their ducks in a row and provide good CS. As i told the person on the phone, the fact i am paying with their card should make this process 100 times faster NOT slower. In any event I sent a note back to billing saying that i spoke with finance and they say i am good to go so they are not sure why i am still in phase 1. I am sure I will get another bogus answer that makes no sense from someone in a foreign country. uggg maybe i should have just ordered from killer or xotic or RC. I hope I dont regret this purchase.

My order says it's in phase 2, and i called AW, they say it's actually at phase 3, just the page is not updated.

 

so i just called and they said it was now in phase 2 (still says phase 1 on website)....

 

The phase page is know to be unreliable.

 

come on now guys. give them a chance.
you are paying a lot of money for a laptop so dont forget the money has to come out of your bank first and this can take upto 5 days. then you will join the Q.
if you are comparing to something youve read about so and so got his computer in 4 days, think first. you are buying a lapatop that is built for you so it takes time. if someone gets theres in 4 days doesnt that tell you something. maybe it was a cancelation and you are getting a laptop that was originally built for someone else.

now if it was like me and you have been in phase 5 for 24 days then keep calling.

 

as long as it ships on novemebr 17th like it said when i clicked buy they can take all the time they want moving through the phases frankly. I just got worried because it was not moving and the "bank" you are talking about was the alienware titanium account so it seemed odd. That said all is good now. new monster on the way so hopefully I will be able to get more then the 5fps I keep getting in warhammer RVR when more then 5 people are on the screen. also have a zalman2000 and logitech g5 on the way from newegg to complete the package.

 

for an update after getting the runaround for 3 days (gotta love Alienware CS)

1) I opened an alienware account like 6 months ago

2) I finally decide to make a purchase because I love the 17M configs and the 12 month no interest financing

3) I place the order online monday AM 11:30 to be exact

4) tuesday I notice that people are talking about already being in phase 2 or 3 but checking the site i an still in phase 1 so I call to find out what is going on. CS person tells me something about having to verfiy my alienware account and sends me to financial services and I speak to them. At the same time I PM James who responds quickly and tells me it takes time to clear. None of this makes any sense to me. I have a fully approved account, I am using exact address and name etc that is on the account.

5) wednesday I call back to CS because site still says in Phase 1. I happen to get same person on the phone as previous day (lucky me). He rememebers our call and says i am now in phase 2 and should be in phase 3 by the end of the day that the website doesnt update all the time. I posted above that looks like I am set they say I am in phase 2

6) i check again today and still says online i am in phase 1. I decide to call and check again...this time get different person, she says I am still in phase 1 and I still need to verify account. So I get sent again to financial. this time I am told that they mailed me a letter and once i get the letter I need to respond to the letter to verify the account.

so i ordered this because I wanted it shipped the 19th. who the heck knows when I will get it now. On top of all of this, why would you make people who actually have one of your credit cards wait and be treated like this? I can see if I was trying to ship to a different address etc, overseas maybe? but the fact i am ordering on an account fully approved over 6 months ago and the fact i am using the EXACT SAME NAME AND ADDRESS as i did on the account this makes no sense. I can also understand if i just applied for the card at the same time i tried to purchase it but in this case it is nuts.

no wonder more and more folks are moving away from alienware and dell.

so the saga continues. i will now wait a few more days for the "letter" to see what I need to do to verify an account that obviously was verified when it was opened in the first place. In a few more days I will just give up and cancel the order and go with Killer Notebooks which I probably should have done in the first place but he doesn't offer the free financing for 12 months.

Their ETA time is very conservative, and you might still get your m17 before the 19th.

around 2 days?

 

2 days seems a bit short to me. i'd say 3-4, but not nearly as long as phase 1-5.
