I haven't purchased the M17x but when I bought my M17 I paid cash and would recommend doing so.

I'm not an expert on Dells financing but I know that from working retail before most of the financing, esp the ones with 0% for X months, they are almost a scam. The reason I say this is because if for some reason something happens and you can't pay off the full amount before the end of the term they hit you hard. Not only do they charge you 20% or more in intrest, they back date that intrest to the date of purchase. So you figure 20% of 3000$ back dated like 6 or 12 months and you'll end up having a huge bill.

    Just my 0.02$

I got mine through my work with the employee purchase program. They give you an interest free loan that comes directly out of your paycheck. Basically same as cash but with a %10 discount.

$2000.00 on DPA and the rest in cash followed by a first payment of a $1000.00 once i know everything is peachy with my system. 0% interest for the rest over the period of a few months . No interest and no hurry is a nice thing but generally i only pay cash for everything or i dont need it is my Motto.

I used the dell CC w/ interest free. I have the cash but will hold on to the cash for a little bit and use it to make the payments every month.

I never buy anything on a CC that I dont have the cash in the bank to pay off..

    7% employee discount
2999 on Dells CC the rest on discovercard.
Tried to increas my Dell CC limit so i can get that extra 3-4% off but they said due to the economy they were not allowing increases :(

Saved up for the laptop before ordering , paying off my discovercard first to avoid interest charges.
