I stay in the middle east and I so need my Alienware fix! I wanna buy an M17x but I've got no clue how to import it off the US.
So far I think the site 'HIDevolution' seems alright. But the M17x is obviously an expensive piece of kit and I DON'T wanna take any chances. How was your experience with HID, if any? More importantly, are there any other sites like HID out there?

They are known to be reliable. They take a while to deliver if you're not ordering one of their in-stock models.
You also may be caught for customs taxes (20-25% of the total price incl. shipping depending where you are).
One of their reps deals with international orders and will mark down the value of the item to avoid charges for you. I can't remember his name but I know some people on the forum know who I'm talking about.
Contact them and ask for the international orders manager/rep. I've heard he's a nice guy.

    Good luck with everything :)

You could look at using a mail forwarding service such as The smarter way to buy from the USA | BundleBox - not sure how it would work for import taxes where you are but I know you can buy stuff from the US via this service and they then send it to you for a fee.

Thanks for the fast replies guys! I'm not worried about the tax cause it's only 4% here. I actually sent an enquiry to HID yesterday using their chat function on the website.....haven't heard from them yet and well, that's not a good first impression. The BundleBox thing sounds awesome and actually seems like a legit alternative. I'm confused now. What do you suggest I go for?

Well, if 100% legit is what you are after (and I'm not saying HID arent legit) you could check out Dell US to see if they will ship to an address provided by BundleBox - I imagine that woulndt be an issue so you could buy straight from Dell.

Wouldnt harm in getting a quote from Dell anyway and see how it stacks up vs. HID....

Yeah true. But there is a problem. Dell USA only accepts American credit/debit cards right? Or is that not true? At the moment, I have a UK credit card and a local visa credit card. Will either one work on Dell USA?

I bought a notebook with Hidevolution before, all went smooth and good. And looks like they do a lot of international shipping, so they know what can do to help you.

I'm also looking for a M17x (or a M18x), and living in Japan right now, that has only 5% tax, so I'm looking for an alternative to buy direct from dell.us :p

I'm not 100% sure on that one. Most credit cards are International, right? - if it were the case, I would think services like BundleBox would have very little trade as the majority of its business would come from buyers outside of the US.

I watched "The Gadget Show" the other day on TV and it was all about using bundlebox to buy from the states - I'm pretty sure that one of the items that was bought was a Dell Computer.....
