    Hi guys, i havn't actually got 1 yet, but this is just for 1 i do, if i do :S :). So i can see the SLi chip, or whatever it is in the Laptop, i see the Original GPU, and i see the slot for the other GPU, i would imagine that i would simply slot the extra GPU inside the other GPU slot, but then i'm not sure on how to SLi it, if it needs anything else at all. Remember i'm talking about the Alienware M9700. Any instructions on it would help, thx! :)

    Just call their tech support as they should be able to order the correct parts for you. I had to go through this with my m9700 last year. They'll send you the daughter card and a SLI bridge cable to connect the two cards. Technically, you don't need the bridge cable, but it increases performance by a pretty significant amount. I had to run it without the cable for a couple of weeks because they forgot to send it. Anyway, it's a pretty simple upgrade. I think the card cost me a little over $200.

    You have to remove the cover of your laptop and then install the card. If I had my laptop I would make a video for you but its in for repairs.

    AW has a guide on their website on how to install / remove the GPU.

    Striker, I would double check with A.W. support about only needing a firmware change for the card. I was upgrading my M9750 to SLI and they sent me a Daughter card. I already had a Daughter card installed and my laptop wouldn't even post with two Daughters. The support agent who walked me through the install said they made a mistake when they sent the card and they should have sent a Parent card in order for it to work.

    I'm in class right now so I can't really look in depth with your issue. If I have time later tonight I will look into your issue and try to help you out.

    Look at the "800 AW Tech Thread" and see my suggestion of the pulling out everything and holding the power button but i'll do some research later for you.

    Also try booting into safe mode and follow my SLi guide to install drivers

    Take out the battery and disconnect the power cord. After that hold down the power button for aprox. 15 seconds, take off your finger, and do that again. After that is done, just plug in the battery and try to turn it on. If that doesn't work take out the battery and just insert the AC adapter.

    Not an option anymore. I tried to do this in May, and got this reply:
    =========================================
    Thank you for contacting Alienware.

    Unfortunately, Alienware is no longer offering video card modules for upgrades on this particular model, since it is no longer in production and our stock is committed to part replacements for in warranty customers.

    If you have any other questions or technical issues, do not hesitate to contact us again, or visit our Knowledge Base at http://support.alienware.com.

    Thank you for choosing Alienware.
    =========================================
    If you don't already have one, you're out of luck. :(
