    How do I disable the alienware Facial recognition?

    Title says it all, I want to disable it since I use the password entry anyways and I think it's just hogging up resources on startup that could be being used to boot up faster. =]

    It's part of command center. Open it up and you'll see it.

    It is a resource hog. As Mandrake mentioned, you can disable it via the Command Center, however you can also use this route:

    To disable:

    Open up the Services Console by typing ' Services.msc' into the Run Command.

    Locate the service titled: FAService

    Open it up. On the General Tab - Stop the Service. From the pulldown menu choose 'Disabled'. This will kill the service @ startup. :)

    Also disable the FATrayMon.exe startup item. This is the little funky icon in the task tray which runs at startup for quick access to the Facial Recognition module.
