I just upgraded to Windows 7 and had to install the new Synpatics driver.

Before that, I forgot how I did this on vista but I had the touchpad enabled and used a razer deathadder as my default mouse. But if I unplugged my mouse, the touchpad would automatically become enabled. How is this done?

It'll be somewhere in the advanced properties for the Synaptics drivers. The option is driver-specific and it looks like some iterations of Synaptics' drivers don't have it, but if it's there, it'll say something like "Disable internal pointing device when external USB device is attached." Some people have reported finding it in Control Panel > Mouse, etc.. but you may need an older driver version if you just can't seem to find it anywhere.
