I just bought a Dell LCD with VGA and DVI input.
I think the M17 only has VGA and HDMI output.

How am I going to connect the HDMI to DVI at the monitor? I see deal extreme has some cheap cables to do that, but is it worthwhile in terms of quality/price? Or just use the VGA?

use the digital connection. either get a DVI-HDMI cable or a HDMI-HDMI cable and a DVI-HDMI connector.

yes that would work, but i have to question the logic of having a laptop with HDMI port and a DVI-only cable... as soon as you want to connect to a HDMI device, you'll need a new (HDMI-only) cable ;)

problem is... you still payed three times as much for the original cable than you'd pay for a non-brand cable that would do the job perfectly well too... so monster still screwed you for the price of a whole cable ;)

I don't know, I just ordered it. It should be here in 6 days.
Some say it comes with both cable. But for the price of $169 CDN, I don't know if they would put 2 cables into the box.

The money goes to advertising and celebrity party at CES. Other brand or no brand doesn't have those.

Any other cable you can buy with confident from celebrities, tight shirts, drunk in parties, etc...?
    So, monster owns.

only thing monster owns is the trust of gullible idiots who're too stupid to do their own research.

Even then it still would be too expensive :D

-I bought a 5 dollar HDMI cable on Amazon, and have been using it for about 1 year with my HD DVD;so far I have had no problems. I even regularly switch between the HD DVD and my M17 and the cable still works!
