    How hot do your 4870s run?

    I'll start that one.

    room temp is 27C

    No cooler pad

    Idle (browsing) - 50-52c

    Load - 70-80C depending on the game.

    When I had my 4870s , it was 62c and below. maybe occasional 68c , but not over 70c

    Edit: I had a cooler underneath it though.

    Given your cooler pad and my high ambient temp that's exactly as it should be, and also consistent with Momiji1.
    So idle temps are 10c higher than those of the Nvidia cards, while max are the same.

    If you have a son or younger brother. Use a few Lagos. It will help with airflow.
