    I'm ordering this machine sometime this week. I'm keeping this machine for more than a year, and probably until it dies or the processors on the computer become super outdated on the PC. I'm keeping this machine for at least 3 years.

    I have had my XPS m1210 for over three years (still a strong machine) and will most likely keep the M11x for the same amount of time and just upgrade it to an SSD down the road.

    Until I am done with medical school. Then I hand it off to my wife, and buy the next version of M11X. The long battery life is what sold me, I have 6 hour lectures and plan on using this for two more years!

    I got the four year warranty. I plan on keeping it that long.

    That doesn't mean I won't buy another computer two years from now, but this is going to be the portable rig.

    My main rig is currently pretty powerful and in my signature. :)

    If there is a i5/i7 refresh, I'll think about upgrading to the new M11x. Otherwise, I am hoping to get at least 1 year and a half out of this beast before I get buy-a-gadget- I-don't-need-bug again.

    wow and i complain about 3 hour lectures. The professor is so amazingly boring i enter a whole new level of boredom never before experienced. With 6 hrs i think i would drop dead...

    there are breaks tho every hour :) plus the chicks are hot in my class. It makes it bearable.

    Yeah, more than a year for me, thats generally my cycle time for computers. It drives my wife mad, but she calms down when she realizes that she gets my hand me downs. Anyway, I still haven't received the bloody thing, so i'm not really thinking about getting rid of it just yet :D
