How long does it normally take for tech support to answer emails?

I recently called alienware support about my m11x fan problem, and to sum up the call he said that the fan was getting no power and to open it up and check the fan itself and the connections then tell him results via email. I did that and found the connections to be fine but the fan was very resistant to manual movement so it was a bad motor and then emailed him saying that.

Its been 3 days now since I sent that email and I need this computer up and running asap. Does it normally take this long? In the email I did ask for a way to have a local repair man repair it without visiting my residence but I do not see how this is a hold up ( I really just want to drop it off at a store then come back a hour later). Do they reply that they are sending a part or do they just do it without a reply?

I use the online support chat when I want an answer ASAP... which is every time I need support, actually...

According to dell support site they do not support email or chat for my m11x ( which is weird because the phone support guy gave me an email address ).

After you call in for tech support, you will usually get an email from the person that helped you. (at least I have) If I have any other issues, I just reply to them. It is actually their real email and not a default or no reply one.

Well I called again and they are sending a repair man to repair the fan and the heatsink. I am going to be watching him, so what should I look for to make sure that he doesn't mess up 4 other things trying to fix the fan?
