This is just a poll so we see how many members purchase a system through Ben or Logan.

I want to get an idea of how many people followed up with what they said they would do and if we should spend time and effort in the future for forum members.

Thank you for your help and honesty in this poll.

i think the problem with logan or ben is that 12% is even worse that what we can get on our own....

Yes, but remember that 12% for non eligible EPP members is pretty good. I am not sure if I could have gotten close to that without EPP.

    I don't know any students... :)

No really I get your points guys but nonetheless for people in my situation that knows no students and knows no one working for a company that has EPP (believe me I ask that question even before asking the name of the persons I meet...) then it's a good deal.

But if someone can help me get a better deal than I am all yours, let me know how...

you dont have to prove that your a student or anything, nor do they require prove. if the ask the name of the business or school, just say x school or x company. you can place the order yourself online at the dell epp website.

Anyways with EPP it's only 10% so we are still 2% less than Logan or Ben.

What was your %? I get 16% through EPP and am curious how much could be stacked on that.

16% is for boeing employee only I thought.

I got 13.4% as they gave some stuff at a discount on top of the 12%.

Now the question is can you cumulate the EPP and the 5% notebookreview coupon? If that is possible than the 15% would be great.

It would nice that people just tell us who they went through and/or how they got over 12% discount total.

I worked with Ben and Logan, but they weren't budging on their discount. They were 12% max. I just called in direct and got 15%. I'm not sure why they wouldn't budge. Based on my experience, I'd just call in, not even try and do a group buy.

I wouldn't worry about getting more than 12%. That's still pretty good. I think the sales guy saw what I was doing. I am literally maxing out the 17x in everything except the HD. I have one here, I can use, so I only asked for a 256 GB SSD. Everything else is . I think their RAM, processor upgrade, and SSD prices are way over priced, so they had room to deal in my system.

It is Dept of Defense EPP, I did not have any coupons either. The 4 yr in home and Blu Ray recorder pushed the price up.

it really depended on what you ordered from them... Mark and I got >15% off from Ben and Logan.... not 12%. They based their discount on configuration.

yeah I noticed that the warranty was one thing that you could not save on with them... in other words no discounts on that option with them.

Did you formally have them give you a quote after the official release or did you just ask for more than 12%? That is odd that they would not budge with you... you were dealing with a maxed out system. Mark spent 12K and got a little more than 15%

Yeah, I got a quote from them after release. They did offer an additional $50 which is about another 1% but then wavered on free NBD. At that point, I called in to see if I could get better, and I did, first guy that answered. I think Ben/Logan were betting that I'd just stick it out and order through them.

I left Ben a message to cancel the order, I would not be too mad except I bought a laptop from him last month then a set of Sony surround sound speakers, then I see that they are giving 12%-15% discounts on the same computer I bought + I have 7 day shipping, for the same $19.00 for shipping that I paid he could have got me 3-5 day shipping.

I ordered mine back in Feb and ended up getting 18%. I used EPP, a 5% coupon, and 3% for opening a DFS account. As long as you pay it off in 1 year there is no interest. Came out to almost $1000 off.

    Before Discount $3,133 Before taxes
    After Discount $2,594.33 No tax

Having it shipped to Iraq I am tax exempt. Granted I can't get NBD to Baghdad, but whatever, I'll be home on leave when it gets to Iraq. I also have a brother that does work for Boeing, so I had that applied as well. Not to mention I stacked a coupon on it so I saved just over 17%.

I went to Ben after the regular rep I had messed up numerous things such as EPP discount, system color, Name misspelled for the engraving ect.
