If your just browsing it will be quiet for the most part.. Just small amount of fan noise.

ditto, it's very quiet, the CPU fan is the only one running and it's probably only spinning @ 10-20%

    Thanks @ kilthro and Lhoz

If that is the case it be ok ! I don like intense fan noise while doing web browsing or typing letters.

Then if I ever play i don't mind noise, can always wear headphones, but i would not like wearing headphone to write a letter lol :p

Mines quiet when running it in balanced power mode. Even flash heavy sites like Hulu don't really get the fans going much.

Thanks guys that is what i wanted to hear !

A second question when i went to Alienware show room I had the chance to play with an M17X R1 and i try it with one game , then while the game was running i did ALT - TAB to switch to desktop screen, to my surprise when i try ALT-TAB to come back to the game i ended UP with a black game screen

Reboot try again and it happened again is that normal with all Alienware machines ? The R1 had the Q9000 and a pair of 260ts

I was surprise since even on my oldest laptop 3 year old life book I can do that with no incidence ;)

Same here, the fans are at their lowest RPM during browsing and watching videos. Only games or stress tests make them loud.

This is in no way related to the system itself! It's either the video drivers or some other software issue.

I point it to the sale person but he only spoke chinese :D and even if he could speak english he did not seem to understand nothing about Alienware lol

I am sure it has to be some driver issue, or the fact that was ruining with the 940 card since i did not hear the fans at all while gaming 3 minutes lol
