It'll say you need to restart, so click OK. -
-
Tried that - doesn't work. Always says I have Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family. It's like my 8800 isn't being recognized by my laptop.
-
Does this message comes up when you press FN+F7? If it doesn't you need to reinstall the On-Screen Display Manager.

Yes, I get that exact message, press okay, and the system automatically restarts. When Windows resumes, Intel is still the dominant display adapter. NVIDIA is not even listed in my device manager.
-
what do you do to verify that the 8800 is not active?
the 8800 will not show in device mgr when the intel is the active unit anyway (i think). it is as if it does not exist. -
yeah, if you're on the IGP, there's no evidence at all that you've got another GPU in your system. i think you need to reinstall the OSD.
-
It's not active because it lists the Intel as the active display adapter. o_o
-
Reinstall the OSD manager.
-
I did from My Hive even though it gave me about five different OSD versions. Still nothing. The screen flashes a lot whenever I log in to Vista.
-
try looking at Oceanus' sticky for m15x (m15x mini-my hive)drivers posting on the forum. see if his version is different.
-
It's not, I used the 0020.

Have you tried shutting down the system, taking out the battery for 20 seconds and then making sure you turn on with the alienhead. Sometimes it doesn't switch the cards up for me either and this makes it revert back to the default 8800 and it works fine switching it after as well

Fantastic work, HAK Devil. Problem solved. Thank you very much - carry on and God bless. AIRBORNE!
-
good call Hak.... +1 (owe ya) for the little stuff in solving the problem. -
here's some more rep for ya +1. Never thought of that solution
It was hardware related not software. go figure...
-
aye, +rep for HAK. nice work.
-
Glad it worked out for you Airborne and thanks for the rep guys

I have this problem occasionally, the only time I have trouble with it is when starting the system by right-click for integrated-only... sometimes it gets "locked" into dedicated graphics mode... you have to fully cycle the system (shut it off and leave it for a few seconds), and restart using the actual power button, then Fn+F7 after boot (if still on integrated)
seems that once you start up via Right-click, it won't swap back till you fully power off the system for a while. usually takes me less than 5 mins to resolve... and my system boots slowly. -
Nah it seems to be a bug with the OSD software. Findvikas made a script which will actually change from intergrated to dedicated and vica versa, with no problems. I've been using it for months, i've stopped using the Fn+F7. Hope it helps

Mystik we knew about this problem... right?
we solved it even before
I hate this busy schedule... almost 1-2 visit daily from always online
About the problem with Right Click.. I guess AW have not intentionally implemented this and it turned out to be a bug, otherwise I would have a dedicated button to boot into integrated than using Right Click.
Whatever it is, taking out battery and flushing out all the remaining power solves many problems... AlienFX, Graphics mode, etc. -
-
ahhh you are quick
-
-
-
-
-
Ohh... what I meant you still need a reboot to activate the Graphics
thats OS limatation
-
ah. shame.
-
I wonder if you can workaround it... I just wonder this OS works as I want... I wonder too much
-
dang it findvikas....get this to work without restart already geez.... -
-
oh... its like a piece of cake... all I need to find is a knife. as soon as I can find the knife we all will have it
-
-
it comes in multi flavor... we consider everyone's need
-
ps: get to work on it, no time to waste here....
ps2: can ya help me here?
