How to get the TactX free gear

I have my order in (at least conformation email not even processed) I'm wondering how I can tack on what ever free gear people keep talking about. Do you get the mouse or the headset? Think this can be done over the phone? I couldn't even order my M15x over the phone the retarded dell lady said they aren't going on sale for 2 or more weeks.

 

You get the TactX Headset. On the website it says "Starting Sept 24th....." but if you ordered yesterday just call your rep and have them add it to your order.

I wish it were that easy for me yesterday. I had to get all the way to resolutions, because they wanted to cancel my order and re-order. (Just for a free headset..are you kidding me?) The customer service person after a while just said, I will send you the headset for free once your order invoices and ships to you. I am happy with that.

 

Well I guess Ill go waste an hour on the phone then.. I just spent all that $ I want some freebies!

 

no go for me... i just ordered yesterday also. they're telling me the have to cancel the order and reprocess it. and they can't cancel b/c it's in processing now. my status says confirmed, though.

they also told me that they couldn't cancel my order yesterday after i saw they put the wrong shipping address down. they said it was processed then too. but they did cancel it and fix the shipping address.

maybe i'll try again and see if i can get may original csr. he was a pretty good guy to work with, the shipping error was a system error and he's the one that ended up taking care of the problem for me.

 

good thing i called back. seems they forgot to put my discounts in when they fixed my shipping address yesterday. would have cost me an xtra 300. they didn't include the head phones even though my invoice is now dated today... but heck i've already got a good pair and would have only given those to my daughter.

 

There is abundance..... in acting though you have need of nothing.

If you just recently placed your order, and they will not extend today's headset promotion...... make it a 'deal-breaker', and cancel your order..... regardless of their promotional explanations. It's amazing how FREE a $75.00 headset will then become. When speaking with the sales person, I really didn't care if I cancelled or not (the he who cares the least principle)...... bottomline, it's my money, and the objective of sales, is to get into your wallet. There will always be newer technologies, and better deals ahead. Sure, I could have lost my deal, but look at all the great things on the horizon.

complaining about how much I paid and then having to pay $100 for a backpack (because I acted like I had to have it for school) got me a free Orion Backpack

The same sales rep, first time I talked to him, here is what he said haha:
"Looks like that will take a while to get to you, let me upgrade your shipping to next day air (from the cheapest one haha) and refund your shipping cost. I will also call my people at the factory and have your order expedited there as well"

I ordered 7/31 and unboxed 8/11. I am happy with my frist purchase from Dell haha

after receiving my laptop i called support and asked them about the headset i should have gotten since my invoice date was valid for the promo.

they finally have agreed and since tech support is out of headphones they're sending me a tactx mouse! that's even better since i was looking to buy a g9x and this mouse looks like a rebranded g9x - minus the weights and interchangeable cover.

btw, tech support was extremely helpful. i called the guy originally at 7:30 and he kept in contact with me all day via email... up until 1:00AM!

 

Ya dont let them tell you that u can cancel your order thats BS i must have been told 50times i can't then i talked to the right person and it took him 15sec. to cancel it!

Have to admit, that was a nice freebie! Now it will be nice when my system actually arrives and I can enjoy these cans while gaming.

 

It ends today. When you do make an order, just tell them that the promo is from the tokyo game show announcement. Their ad is no longer online, buy i did save the image that showed the promo ends 10/08/09.

 

Can you please post that image!! Dell just charged me for the headset today.

 

Does anyone have a screen shot of the webpage that showed that we were to get a free Tactx headset?

i've got it. tech support said that the tactx hs is out of stock - for tech support. they offered me the tactx mouse instead.

Well I canceled and re-ordered my system a few hours ago so it must not have been in production because otherwise they wouldnt have canceled it.

 

I just re-ordered mine today , and my status is " In Production ". Talk about expediting, or it's just my imagination?

 

Being that you got the 4870s that is interesting. Although who knows what status its reall in. Unfortunately I have to wait till my dell card account is credited back the funds so I can use it to re-order. The upside is the manager I have been dealing with is going to give me the nebula red at no extra charge. Not to mention that its now 18 months no interest instead of 12 months last month. Hope you get yours soon!

 

You should be able to re-order at the same time you cancelled because your item never shipped. I don't know why they are telling you to wait for the account to be credited in order to re-order. That sucks. I would call back and smash on em'.

 

Well they charged my account when I ordered it. I know this because I can physically see that my availible credit has been shrunk by the amount I payed for the system. From what I understand they charge when you buy it, not when it actually ships.

 

Actually.. they do a pre-auth credit when you order, but the funds return to your account after a few days. They want to make sure you have the funds to make the purchase. Just remember to keep that money there for when they do ship it!

 

My point was this KAL-EL... , , I had ordered my m17x like back in Sept 14th and was charged to my DPA. On Sept 15th, I called back and cancel to make some changes. I was able to get it cancel and re-order with the new options(added Dual HD, I had GTX 280m SLI at the time) right away. 10 days later when my new config was shipped, ATi's was added for configuration. I called back to cancel, but it had already shipped, which in my case, i cannot get the credit refunded till i send it back.

The only time you would need to wait for credit refunded if 1) Your item was shipped out and they need to receive the item back first in order to refund the credit, which of course you have to wait. I don't know what else to tell you from my experience.

After thinking about it some more, im a little more pissed. Oh well, it should be ok by Tuesday and ill order again.

im basically going with the same config. Only difference is im getting the nebula red color added for free 18 months no interest is better thern 12 too. Figured if I waited this long I can wait a little longer.

Well, I joined the club, canceled it too ! Will be ordering on the 18th, when the first Win 7 system based orders can be processed, and as per their statement RAID 0 now can be configured with Dual ATI 4870 CF, so I'll be back with my original configuration. 18 months 0% financing is great !!
