Hi, I wonder how to use alt codes on my laptop (M14x) because I have an US keyboard and I need to use code like alt+0233 to do "é". And its quite annoying to go on charmap everytime I need symbols that arent on my keyboard. Someone can help me?

I ask for the keyboard of the laptop because a laptop is for the mobility you know, so if I want a desktop I build my own PC, I don't have external keyboard atm and I want to be able to use alt code even if I don't have an USB keyboard.

Yeah sure, but I wanted something like a software to switch the key (for exemple with ctrl + a key) and that switch letters to numbers.

Num LK, use alt codes on the "num pad". Only way as far as I know.

Yep, it's annoying with having to activate and deactivate num lock all the time... I have good news for you:

Press and hold FN+ALT and then type the alt code (on the "keypad" which usually only gets activated with num lock) and then release FN+ALT. This should do the trick. At least it works with my M15x.

Let me know if this works with the M14x as well..

Sorry to insist, but with my method you will be able to write an é by pressing RightAlt+E.
And the semicolon " ;" still be on the key next to the " L".
