Ok. I have finally resolved the issue that I've had for a long time. I was forced to stick with AW's stock drivers for the longest time because I wanted a blu-ray compatible driver. I am running a m17x 8800m gtx sli with blu-ray.

Problem - Laptopvideo2go.com's video drivers have problems with your Blu-ray drive. Your Blu-ray software asks you for an updated driver.

Solution - Mod your own video driver with DH Nvidia Mobility Modder @ http://www.driverheaven.net/nvmodtool.php. Pick a nvidia driver you wish to use, and then mod it yourself by following the directions on the website.

Apparently your blu-ray is not working is due to the way laptopvideo2go.com mods them. It does not allow your blu-ray to read properly.

I have modded the newest 179.13 from AW. I downloaded the orignial driver from laptopvideo2go.com without their modded inf file. then used DH Nvidia Mobility Modder and modded my own version. and the Blu-ray works now! i have been running the driver for a couple of weeks now, no problems yet.

    Hope this helps!

Just tried it with the new 179.13 drivers and indeed, Blu-Ray does work. But I had to reboot twice before everything was running smoothly and Aero was disabled for some reason. But now that it's up and running I'm quite happy to not have to sacrifice either Blu-Ray or speed. Gonna do some game testing now to see how it fares.

Great post mate although i dont have the m15x anymore but this would have been helpful to me back then.

I am sure others with m15x and m17x will find this thread very useful.

    Reps to you.

    Nice one Dave,

I'll give it a try with the 179.13 myself.

I'm curious about the "Big Bang II" forceware that's coming out soon (well, in theory) With this way of getting drivers to work, we can keep up with performance (",)

    Nice one

    +1 (",)
