I cant take it anymore...

ordered on feburay 11th. My estimated shipping date was feburay 28th. Then i called and changed it to the penyrnn. This was around Feb. 20th. She told me it would be a delay of only 5 more days. Now its March 3rd and im still in phase 6. Whats the deal? Everyone else is enjoying there sexy m15x and im just sitting with crap osx and a macbook.

patience.. some have it much worse than you..
most have been in phase 4 for more than 3 weeks!
and you're estimated shipping date was very ambitious of them and led you with high hopes..

i had the same rough timelines as the OP, feb 10 order, feb 20ish change to penryn, was sitting in phase 5 since the 14th even with the order change, and today i bumped to phase 8. wooo!

My shipping date was feb 28 as well. I called and changed to penryn about as same time as you did. They told me the new shipping date would be March 13th. but I received it today. Installing crysis on it right now.

Patience. Perhaps if you would not have called and changed your order it would be farther along. I ordered mine a couple months ago and it came 2 days before it was due in- talk about fast. I guess with the release of their new m15x system their shipping time has slowed down a little.

 

Isn't 5 days from 2/28 (counting the leap year) March 4? Which would mean AW is still in the window initially told to you as a result of your change. I understand the anxiousness but this was a delay of your making.

 

well i called today and she said 2 more days at most. i guess your right kem its just that since it was in phase 6 for so long i thought something was wrong. every other phase i was in laster 1,2,3 or 4 days at the most. and i have been in phase 6 for a while!

 

My order was placed on January 24. and on fabruary 20 or 21(not sure when penyrnn released) i asked for upgrade to CPU, and they left me for 4 days without confirmation to call later and found that they had a problem in my card, so i gave them new card,and they said 5 working days to be shipped, today is the 4th day and am still in phase 5. so u still better than me.

BTW, OSX never been a crap and it rocks , this will be my first VISTA PC, and am sure i will regret it. thats why i will use XP. OSX lacks the Gaming support, but when that will happen, am sure all will stick to OSX and not VISTA or WINDOW 7.

 

wow after nagging at them awhile, i guess they got so pissed i just got bumped to phase 8! dont be afraid to call them. (lets just hope they did not rush my order) @ the guy who likes OSX. yeah i guess its ok it just only has no games. and im on break from work. so the only thing i need now is games. good luck all i guess i should have this by friday.

I wonder if your order leap-frogged the orders of those who ordered before you (thereby delaying their orders), because you complained so much. Hmm...mine was one of those orders.

Sorta like when you keep sending your food back to the kitchen in a restaurant: send it back too many times, and the chef will add a "special" sauce to your order at no extra charge.

 

Its not really your fault. From what I've seen since joining NBR generally and following the release and shipments of the m15x specifically, you can't really put any stock in the "Phases" reported on AW's website. There seems to be an obvious disconnect between where a system is on the assembly floor and where its reported on the website. Its a good idea by AW that is badly implemented. If they're going to provide the order tracking through assembly, it should be at least close to accurate. I think we all understand how people want to follow their order and get more and more anxious as it gets closer to the ship date and don't see it moving steadily forward. But, I've seen too many cases on here where an order has jumped forward, gone backward, gone forward again, etc. It ends up driving people crazy because they get too caught up in exactly what "Phase" their system is in. I seem to recall seeing some orders reported here that still showed they were in one of the later "Phases" when they had actually been shipped and received by the customer.

 

OSX, Linux' version of directx (gaming api) is called openGL. It's a choice of the industry to make the most money with win32 DirectX. openGL is GNU and runs on several platforms also windows.

 

my order shipped on 3/4. same timelines as OP. and i didn't nag them, so maybe all the phone calls and emails were just useless flailing and your order was going to ship at that time anyway?

 

at least ur in phase 6. i ordered it on feb 10, day b4 u did, im still in phase 3 as of march 5. if it doesnt move up tomorrow im cancelling and buying 1730

 

I don't think I've ever heard so many people whining all at once about something that just isn't going to change. When you buy a top-of-the-line system that has literally just been released you can't really expect it to arrive immediately. What you are talking about is a high-end computer that uses all the latest and greatest parts and gadgets- of which most are in high demand through many other vendors than Alienware.

For all of you that think that you are waiting too long, why not just go buy a Dell? That way I don't have to dig through 5-10 threads a day of whining about the delay in manufacturing...

 

lol! you really don't get it! we're not whining because of the waiting so long.. we're whining because the delay is due to them NOT HAVING THE COMPONENTS AND NOW IT'S BEEN A MONTH AND STILL NOTHING! IF THE DELAY WAS BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT SATISFIED WITH TESTINGS, WE'D BE A HAPPIER BUNCH!

 

You really must be thick headed. People were given an estimated ship date... and the actual ship date has gone beyond and above by an additional 5 weeks. When people call AW they don't get an answer; that's why people are so frustrated. If you don't have the parts to mass produce a notebook then don't F***NG sell it in the first place.

I myself have been waiting very long after ordering my m15x. My order was on hold for 3 weeks and I never even had a clue. No one contacted me from AW.

You didn't buy a m15x - you're not the one putting up with it.. So you really have no clue.

 

hehe, we're frustrated but don't start shouting on the poor guy. Maybe he's more patient than us. No need to argue, when you feel you're angry call up AW CS .
