I just want to get the monthly payments as cheap and as easy as possible? how?

You have to get approved for a Dell Preferred credit card. Hope you realize that low monthly payments = more money in the long run.

all depends on your credit if you have good points aproved if not try to use another credit card to pay dell but check the interest first sometimes they are to hi
-
Build the system the way you want....proceed to checkout....you will be presented with payment options there (monthly plan also)... submit and wait to see if you are approved or not.

do what they say but remember next time this thread belongs to sidetopics
-
In that case, you probably won't be approved, but if you do, it'll be at the highest APR which is currently 30%. I believe the "as low as" prices on Alienware.com assume a 48 month repayment schedule, in which case you will be paying over $3000 for the base ($1999) m17x.
Edit: Actually, scratch that. I'm pretty sure the minimum age required to be approved for a Dell Preferred Account is 18, in which case you're going to have to go through your parents. -

^^ Err... I thought companies like Dell or Apple are offering NO interest rates for monthly payment?
-
For Alienware, there's no interest for 18 months I believe, which requires very good to excellent credit, but the OP specified:
-
Yes M17x is 18 months no interest right now.
-
doesnt matter he will not be approved its illegal to put a person under 18 into a binding contract like that. I am 18 and i got approved so anyone will as long as you meet the requirements
the alienware systems do have no interest right now though -

we know he don't get approved but he can get his parents to approve for him sorry but were is your cow? -
The current 18 months no interest promo is pretty sweet too.
-
Lol thats what im doing is going through ma parents. Cant buy it my self u nuts?
-
Whats that? -
Speedy Gonzalez Xtreme Notebook Speeder!
that means you have exelent credit score to qualify for that
-
when you apply for the dell preferred account then you will receive no interest for 18 months
-
Where do i apply for that?
-
Speedy Gonzalez Xtreme Notebook Speeder!
not in all cases i receive credit but not 18 months interest free due to my low credit score -
Seriously?!?! I always thought anyone with a DPA account was eligible because they were already approved for credit. So basically dell (or the bank) puts people through a second criteria of sorts? The 18 months no interest promo is the only reason im about to pull the trigger on an M17x.
-
Thats right! They approve people in tiers....some get HIGH interest rates...some slightly better and the best can use interest free....But, you better have well over a 720 to qualify for interest free deal!
-
no Dell must do it randomly ... i AM 18 and had no prior credit and got approved ....
my brother with horrible credit and a 30k a year job got approved for titanium account that my grandpa making 100k a year got declined -
Im rootin for the yanks but w.e
So when i customize my laptop then checkout and whatever i have to fill out the online credit app? then when thats done i have 18 months no interest? then the rest of the 30 months are interest? -
Well the interest rate thing I already knew. its based on credit worthiness. I just didnt know that only some customers were eligible for certain promos. I assumed that everyone with a DPA account was eligible. Speaking of interest rates, I called Dell financial servicies a few months back. Purpose being I wanted to take a long shot and see if they would grant me a lower rate. To my suprise they actually granted me one. A better one then I thought too.
-
Go figure?
-
So dude, When i customize then i get to checkout and add the credit card and number and billing info and adress and all that, then what comes after that?
-
you click apply for dell perfered account @ check out
https://financing.dell.com/financing/us_ca/app.aspx?itemtype=CFG&s=dhs&l=en&cs=19&c=us&doc=dpa_info
come on man do a search or look around ... -
just click on where it says no financing for 18 months "apply now" in your shopping cart and it will ask you for some personal info and will give you a decision in about a minute
-
I just pay cash
-
better to save up and buy or get a bank loan and buy.
Dell have too much control already. they are in your computers stealing your megahurtz already!!
-
Always the best way to go, unfortunately I dont have that kind of cash upfront. in my case, im pretty sure ill be able to pay the balance in full within 18 months (I hope anyway)
-
u pay like 2000 at the 18 month mark dont u ? i guess it depends if u got ur m17 maxed or not
-
You HAVE to read the fine print on the 18-months at 0% interest guys...
Its states very clearly its 0% IF YOU PAY IT OFF within 18 months... what does that mean?
Well, simple really, if you don't pay the purchase off within the 18 months, they will charge you pro-rated interest at typically anywhere from 19.99% to 29.99% on the original balance (could be remaning balance).
There is ALWAYS a catch, and Dell even had a class action law suit against them for not describing this part of the contract...
Bottom Line: Pay it off in the 18 month period or balance transfer the balance before the 18 months are up. -
This thread is my "Exhibit A" for why personal finance classes need to be mandatory in high school.
It's great that you can take the integral of a logarithm, but it's pretty useless if you're bankrupt by the age of 22. -
Well whatever someone pays for their system, they have to pay it off before the 18 months ends. if not, a ton of compounded interest will be headed their way. in my case its a bit more then $2000. I actually already have a decent sized down payment ready for my first bill though.
I dont understand dell
