    no, because

    1) the m17x is not available in SLI
    2) that would result in a performance decrease
    3) that would have made the purchase of an m17x pointless

i think your 1) means m17x is available only in SLI and anyways i agree with all three points... and congratulations on the purchase the screen is absolutely great and i love watching blu ray movies on it looks soo crisp

not trying to start a flamewar here, but

    2) can you give examples of how it would decrease performance in anything other than playing a game?

AMD has really dropped the ball over the past couple years and has let Intel run away with the CPU market again. Hope AMD comes up with something.

Very simple reason, cuz it's a 17inch, & it's think, & heavy with the looks to boot.
I love my m17x no matter what it's made for.

Congratulations Tropics, from what i've heard, and believe me whan i say i've been looking, the m17x's biggest problem to date is a posible CPU issue and a loose key on the keyboard so... it's working out to be a very solid notebook.

    Enjoy

from the pics the m17x seems to use the exact same camera as the m15x. both the m15x and m17x both has 2.0 megapixels. if its anything like the one in the m15x, the picture is equal to a 2.0 megapixel camera from a phone and the frame rates a lower than the one on my phone. normal frame rates for web cams are 30 fps. i would say the m15x gets 15 - 20 fps. the image kind of ghost alot when i use the camera.

the camera is decent of what it is and the size it is. if you use a webcam alot i suggest getting a dedicated webcam since the picture will be much clearer and the frame rates will be much higher which gives you a smoother picture.
