Here it is I upgrade my CPU to the X9100 but I got low benchies is this normal?

I was getting really high temps around 50c Idle is this normal doing 3D06 they reached 70c is this normal for this cpu?
-
TurbodTalon Notebook Virtuoso
Yeah. Mine hits 70C. Did you already flash the OCZ BIOS? If so, go in and OC the CPU to 3.33Ghz.
-
So I should worry about Temps now is the score normal for the setup I had old Video drivers I updated now I am getting 13,917
-
TurbodTalon Notebook Virtuoso
You are fine under load at 70C.
-
Alright I OC it to 3.33GHz

NICE! Now yer playin' with the big boys.
Question...why is one of your CPU cores 10C higher than the other? Did you use new thermal paste? -
-
Well I thought this was a problem. I cleaned the heat sink with alcohol and then applied Silver Thermal Compound 5 but I only put a thin layer should I put some more?
-
Hey man I wish I could help you out. I just want to say that I really appreciate what you have done for yourself and the community. It is always nice to see new members try new stuff out even though they may not be too familiar with computers (not sure if you are or not).
Just giving props and rep+ for you -

That's funny. I bought and installed the X9100, OCd my GPUs, and flashed the OCZ BIOS nearly a month ago.
All I got was a bunch of scoldings about voiding my warranty.
Mike, put the paste on the CPU core, not thin, but don't glob the stuff on there. Make sure to clean the CPU core with alcohol/Q-tip. Tighten the heatsink screws sequentially, I think they're numbered. Did you check the thermal pad that goes to the other component? Is it intact? Don't over-tighten the screws, just go until they stop. They are spring loaded.
You are running too hot. The fact that one of your cores is much hotter than the other means something's wrong there. -
It said somewhere when using another thermal paste you sould remove the old paste with rubbing alcohol like desktops so I removed it and added new paste but almost nothing thin layer. -
TurbodTalon Notebook Virtuoso
Yeah, dab it on there with your finger. Make sure there's an adequate amount covering the entire CPU core.
I'm hitting 79C with Orthos. Both cores are the same temp.
Once you redo your paste, you'll be fine. -
-
I also noticed that right next to the CPU there's another chip what is that for?
Yeah I don't know why but my max temps always are different -
That chip is most likely the North Bridge. The one you see in HWMonitor as TZ00.
The reason one temp is probably 10*C higher is because 3DMark won't always run on both cores, one core will take more load than the other.
If applying new thermal paste. Apply a small pea size drop to the centre of the CPU. Then screw the heatsink down onto. Then remove the heatsink, and check to see if there is a even spread across the die. When screwing it down, make sure you don't screw each screw in one at a time. Do them together little by little, otherwise the paste won't spread evenly.
New thermal paste needs time to cure. It needs to be 'burnt in' Before it will work to its best, therefore running it nice and warm, but not too warm will speed up that process, it will still take a week or so before it gets right.
Just remember that your CPU temps will never be the same as someone else with the same chip type. Especially ES chips, there's always differences that can relate to temperature differences. As long as it stays under 90 (at full 100% load) id say it should be good.
Your 3DMark score doesn't look too bad as is anyway. Turn off aero, cut back on soem processes etc and you can bump it a little. -
-
Latest after reapplying more paste
-
There we go, that's what most people are getting with that setup (average is around 14.7k). The previous score was a tad bit lower than expected.
-
dude, you pic resolution is not right for forum. get it to 640 or 800.
-
Well then if its retail temps will definatly vary compared to Talons ES.
-
TurbodTalon Notebook Virtuoso
Whoa! You got your retail chip cheaper than I got my ES, Mike. Ain't that some crap.
So in CPU-Z, under 'Specification', you don't show (ES)?
If not, you got an absolutely killer deal. -
Nope it does not show ES
-
His chip is nearly 900$ i think.
-
Nice CPU ^^
-
Ah Mike you may want to blotch out some of your personal stuff.
-
what he said. for starters: your name, the warez Fallout 3 folder, Britney Spears' new album, same goes for the Katy Perry folder.
oh and if you're looking for wallpapers, deviantart.com . -
fell through the roof? mine just hit the basement floor so hard it desintegrated

Mike, you finally voided your warranty AND your reputation.
This is the tab I was referring to.

Ouch, Paint is a useful util in these cases, prior to posting pics
-
lol.. Britney Spears is still hot! I got mad respect for ya
She may be a bit trailer, but that trashiness adds a new level of hotness. +rep Mike
Temps, and all else looks on par. You're golden. Enjoy. -
agree with champs, quizzical ROFL at E-wrecked
-
What can I say? I grew up in Southern Alabama.. We have quite a few trailer parks in the south, and some hot(some not so hot) products of the south develop there.
-
this is one of the stories only the interwebz can write...
-
poor dog, now he's traumatized... who'd've thought britney spears and katy perry could traumatize a dog?
come to think of it, britney a few months ago could easily have traumatized the poor animal on her own -
Mrs. Spears could still cause trauma.. Im sure she's got some mean stretch marks.
-
nah... i'm sure the surgeons did a good job on her
-
good point.. I wish I had first hand experience and knowledge to confirm.
-
ugh, no, don't go there... unless you film it, cuz you'll be filthy rich afterwards if you do
-
lol..ok, off topic. we should prolly change the subject. Mike, congrats on the x9100 - Now maybe you can break 16k 3dmarks like mine
-

Talon here is the pic
I finally voided my Warranty
