When you go into the bios and start a pre-boot diagnostics test you push the eject button while it is running a memory test and the cd ejects. Just an FYI for people who have their cd stuck and can't start up windows.

Nicely found, but during boot up just holding eject should trigger the eject disk signal and forcefully remove itself.

    Hi,

This method did not work for me despite several attempts. CD was still stuck into its drive. Normal ways once logged in my account did not work. Right click on the drive crashed Window7, and simply pressing the eject button, of course dids not work too.

The way I fixed ejecting the stuck cd is by starting Window7 in safe mode. Then once logged in, pressing the eject button, worked.

I guess it depends on the reasons why the cd is failing; therefore different methods might fix or might not fix the issue.

    Cheers,

    Olivier
