    My little cousin is veiwing some bad websites, and I need to block them asap. I tried doing it with with hosts file (notepad) but for some reason it wont overright it...long story short I need a way to block a few websites and I dont know how please!!!

    The browser your using ought to have some sort of parental controls. What browser is it?
    And BTW, I think you're in the wrong forum :p

    internet explorer... but theres no way to block websites its just like active x controls...useless...

    Internet explorer 6 or 7? In that case go to Internet options/Content/Content Advisor/Enable.

    Alternatively, you can use a firewall for the same purpose.. Both at the local machine, and at a server(if you are running one).

    See this site. Their customised hosts file blocks many sitesand they give good instructions. You may need administrator powers to change files in the Windows folder.
