I want An engraved NAMEPLATE!

im buying an AW M15X lappy in near time, but i really want it to be engraved with my name or nick on the nameplate. But my the country im buying from has no such thing as customizable nameplate....sad... I was thinking of buying 1 from Dell US, but its gonna give me headache with the shipping and purchasing itself... I got somebody who lives in US, but there might some problem with the custom here if I were to ship the thing... plus costs... So, any opinion? the nameplate is so irressistable... Since im gonna burn 2.5k USD, why not make it something flashy a little bit right? =D

I also thought of you know, offering trade + some bucks. Say, anybody from US about to buy a brand new AW laptop, get your plate engraved with my name and we trade our nameplate later, and plus some 100$ or so. =P anybody interested? ^^

 

The name plate is not available in Canada but my laptop is being shipped from the USA. Go figure. Take the name plate off and take to a local trophy engraver.

 

will it looks the same? I want it together with the "ALIEN WORDING".

I'm from Germany and have a M11x.

We can't get individually engraved nameplates either, but ours come engraved with the model name plus "alien wording".

I don't think that there is enough space on the plate to engrave another word. Plus the plate seems very thin and fragile.

 

The nameplate is already pre engraved with the words M15x. Also, it is not that cool anyways.

I still dont understand why the only place possible to engrave the laptop is the US.

take it to a cnc machinist and he'll make it look however you want. I might experiment on my mill to make these plates and then offer it up as a service. This wouldn't be cheap though.

 

Yeah just take it to a trophy engraver and have what ever you want on it like Falcon suggested. Create your own alien letters shouldn't be to hard to make a few up similar to the Alienware ones, and get that engraved on there as well. Then you have something truly unique.

 

U can find the Alienware font online. Its called AlienKaret (AlienCaret Standard.ttf) , print it out make a cutout of it and engrave it with a dremel or sumthin, or as suggested take it to an engraver

original ones are not really engraved anyways. just sand it off and send it to get lazer etched, will look much better and you can even do photos if you want.

 

Pay me $200 and the next M17x I order I'll engrave with your name on it.

 

Does that include shipping? You have to be informative if you want to rip people off

 

Oh yeah I forgot about that. Shipping is another $19.95 + tax. Nah but seriously, I will engrave my next name plate to whatever for a fee if someone really wants it that bad.

 

cant you walk into the alienware facility and make us all some custom engraved nameplates. And then send to europe in bulk. we would give you some rep and a thankyou mail.

 

Unfortunately I don't live in China. Not even Florida near AW HQ anymore.

 

should i call that reasonable?
