So, I currently have an m17x r3 which I am extremely happy with. I do however find myself surfing youtube for m14x r2 vids and I regularly surf the m14x forums. Am I crazy for wanting a m14x as well as my m17x? Does anyone else have both? If so what are your thoughts on them?
One thing that I have not been able to find much info on the r2 is how does it perform in Guild Wars 2 with the 900P display? Can someone who has tested it let me know what settings and fps it has been getting?
Thanks

I know how you feel. Love my m17x r3 but been thinking about the m18x a lot lately. Got a taste of power with the m17 x and now I want more.

I have a M15x, and then for something more portable I got the M11x.
Kinda been missing a disc drive and a larger screen, M14x would be nice. Relatively light.
The M15x weighs a fair bit, along with all my other stuff in my backpack for uni it was just too heavy to lug around. Thus the M11x.
Although I have had my eye on a M14x, may sell my M11x in the future and get an M14x.... But who knows... Not very economical if I think about it for me....
However I'm sure you'd find getting yourself an M14x alot more portable. -
I know what you mean. My dell credit card gets a hell of a cardio workout - it's working / buying crap all the time

DO IT...pick it up from outlet with additional 20% off coupon when you see a decent spec. If you decide to cancel and order a different laptop from the outlet when you call to cancel you will be offered with a $50-$150 credit depending on your negotiations trick. If you got in on time then you would have been able to use the AMEX SYNC & TWEET $100 credit on top.

bigtonyman Desktop Powa!!!
You can never have enough alienware machines!
In a perfect world I'd have an m14x as a portable system and an m18x for home. Just went with the m17x because its inbetween and is fully upgradable as well.
Edit: An Alienware Aurora desktop would be fun to play around with too -
I love the Aurora as well, but a couple of my friends have them and they are like those plug in heaters in a room. The one guy has central air conditioning and has had to put a window unit in the computer room to help keep it cool. I think you nailed with the M18x and M14x plus just image how that would look on a desk with both of them
-
Desktops are over priced and just build it your self. Laptops are inflated and use negotiation tactics and stacking to acquire a slick deal.

I have been scanning Craigslist, eBay, and dell outlets looking for an m11x r3 after picking up my first Alienware a few moths ago (m17x r4) . If they had released a new m11x I probably would have picked it up by now. Guess I am just greedy but the smaller form factor would be really nice sometimes- but the power of the 17 I couldn't do without for long sessions either... Come on Alienware release another m11x or something ultraportable!
-
I wish AW released a slick and slim aluminium tablet, stealth black, 10" or 11". It actually could sport android and some fast GPU (tegra 3 or spandragon s4 etc.) for the sake of android gaming. that could be cool. Lotsa nice android games out there.
-
I have a homebrew desktop at home as well and that thing is a serious space heater (Lanboy Air case, lots of ventilation for the parts = heat escaping case out into your room). That's the price of gaming, what are you going to do!
-
So just succumbed and picked up an m11x r3 from the outlet with 20% off coupon...
-
Haha, I know what you mean. After I got my M14x, I fell in love with the brand and ended up picking up a M11x too! I still want a M18x but that won't be for a while
.

I feel the same way. I use my M17X R3 at home for demanding games and I always leave my M11x in my car. I'm thinking of getting the M14x R2 for some portable gaming. M11x feels kind of small for gaming after getting used to m17x.

Got an M11x R2, loved it but it had issues so i returned it and got an R3 for a wicked price from Dell. Fell in love and bought 2 M11x R1's. Having 3 was impractical so sold one of the R1's, but at a decent profit. Now i have less than $1,000 in total invested in the 2 M11x's in my sig. They're excellent value and perform great, are build solid and look sexy as hell.
I might try and get a M17x at some time, if i can find it at the right price. I'm just afraid i won't be able to spread my love among all of them and i do love using the M11x R3 as my main machine. -
I first got an M11x R2. Loved it. After a few months, I got a great deal on an M17x R3. Gave the M11x R2 to my son for college.
Found a sick deal on an M14x R2 and now I have 3 Alienwares in the house! I use the M17x R3 mostly at home and use the M14x R2 everywhere else. -
I had my M11x r2 for nearly two years, then got the M18x R2 about 2 months ago. Thought about selling the 11x to fund the 18, but was just no point with resale values so low, so kept the little beast
Actually wouldn't mind a 14 too if I could fine one for the right price...

I think I will end up selling my M15x and getting a M17x R5 or whatever they will call it when they come out
.
If I found a very cheap M11x I would pick up another one, they are just so portable. -
I just threw my 14x4r1 on craigslist looking for a m11xr3 for trade. I just got a m14xR2 and miss my old 11xR1 so much! I figured id throw it up and see if someone in my area wants to move up. its maxed out CPU/RAM/SSD/LCD/WHD so I think it would be a loss for me overall but i sold my 11r1 to one of my friends and everytime I see it I just have to pick it up and screw with him about how i never should have sold it!

m18x and m14x seems to be the preferred setup for performance on the go and at home
I want more than one AW!
