May or may not be against the forum rules, but I need a bit of help...

I purchased my m15x used from someone on craigslist. With the exception of my current problem everything is great. Love the m15x. However, while reinstalling Vista (w/ the recovery dvd) I've lost the ability to switch to integrated graphics. I called Alienware and tried to fake as the original owner but wasn't able to get access to The Hive. I did manage to confirm I needed the "OSD" driver to fix the problem. Tech support said it was a common problem with using the recovery disks (as that driver is not stored on them).

I googled the problem for a long time before calling them. I found a few threads on this forum where people were saying their recovery disk wasn't allowing them to install Nvidia or the Intel drivers from the disk. Apparently this is why.

If you could assist me my email address is: [email protected]

I would appreciate the help. One of the best features for me was to be able to extend battery life in class but I can't use the integrated card at the moment. According to the Tech the driver is only available in "The Hive".

well I'm not sure if this thread is against forum rules since you are not an original owner BUT can you tell us if you have the recovery partition on the HDD. Also seeing as you posted in the AW section and not the off topic I'm not to sure the mods will be to happy with the title.

I don't have the recovery partition. I just need someone to access this file for me and email it.

Sorry for title, just a Dane Cook reference.
