Well done, anyone who has plucked up the courage to order one after reading some of these threads deserves a medal :p
Nice spec's. How come you didn't order the 8800M GTX?

Anyway, enjoy the phase game, and i hope you don't get a lemon :p

Congratulations on the notebook, nice specs indeed. The 320GB 7200RPM drives are wicked fast, please post an HDTune benchmark when you get it. :)

Nice system. You should change the order (before they start building it) to 1GB RAM, installing RAM is really easy and Alienware overprices it, you'll save $200+ buying it from Newegg and installing yourself. If you rollback the processor to the 2.4GHz (you won't see a difference) you could fit an 8800M GTX in there for a cheaper price than you're paying now. It'll be over double the speed of the 8700M GT, so it's a worthwhile upgrade. Congrats with the system and good luck!~

I didn't pick the 8800 due to the extra $250 dollars. I'm a student and I still can't believe I just spent this much. And as much as I'd like just to install my own ram, I really don't trust myself doing that. Thanks for the support guys, and I'll post an HDTune benchmark when I recieve the system Chaz :3.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get out of this 'Stage One Order Confirmation' stage?

depends if you used their financing they have to confirm the info you gave them so depends on when they try to call you. If you used a CC then maybe 24 to 48 hrs.

I assumed you were referring to business days. Thanks for the info, it's quite helpful.

I've been running about on pins and needles. My only worry is that the system won't be here to replace my old one before the Early Summer finals, but it should be here (God willing) for the beginning of the Late Summer courses (I'm taking some electives over the summer to get rid of them).

Hey, even though the m15x has had it's share of problems if I know AW they will have you a comp that works, or a solution to pretty much any problem you should have. If they don't send it back I guess but I hope you get the same AW experience that I did when I got my m9750... :D

Well I pre-ordered my m9750 way back months before it's release and even though the waiting was a little annoying in the end I got what I think even to this day (over 10 months since I got it) is a great computer. I haven't had any problems so far with it, and the build quality I think to be superb. Mine looks like it is maybe a few weeks old even though the case has gone through a LOT of travel. lol If you have any questions about the phases or anything like that feel free to ask otherwise I hope that is what you were asking about. :)

Depends on your credit history and card info. For example, if you're a 55 year old who has a $30,000 credit limit and who's never missed a payment in their life, then AW probably won't ask :)

Well I mean I doubt that even in the case where one may have bad credit, AW will outright refuse to accept the order. All they'll do is ask for extra assurances, i.e. that this is not a scam, before they proceed.

Yeah, I'm not worried in the least about that, I'm just wondering how it works, as I'm completely unfamiliar with ordering from Alienware.

Yeah, what you'll find though is that the whole phase system is entirely inaccurate and that while you may be in phase 5 today it doesn't mean you won't be in phase 8 tomorrow. Conversely, you may find yourself stuck in a phase for more than a week.

I had to do it because of some international order thingy and an alternate shipping address. It's no biggie to me though, my credit rating is perfect, never missed a payment yet. So now it's just play the waiting game, but man is that game so hard :(
