The IDT Microphone Array has 3 Mic Enhancements listed:
    [x] Acoustic audio cancellation
    [ ] Light beam forming
    [x] Aggressive beam forming

Has anyone tested the audio cancellation? I switched these on just now, coz I play with the M17x speakers, and wondering how well it would work for L4D. Will give it a try but the steam mic test wasn't good. It picks up my voice and ambient noise and then keeps looping since the playback is one second later, the audio cancellation probably (should) cancel in near real-time.

Not sure if the audio cancellation will work better while playing games...I tried using 'sound recorder' with audio cancellation on & off while listening to music on VLC player (switching off VLC and sound recorder between runs). Both recordings had the same playback volume (played the same 30-second part of a song). The recording with audio cancellation on should have sounded softer or muffled.

Was trying to measure the ambient noise where I am: Slashdot Poll | Typical ambient noise level, where I am right now. Anyone know of a good FOSS tool for this?
