For those like myself who are investing in buying an m15x i7 laptop... the issue that everyone is reporting with trackpad really scares me. I have been very disappointed with DELL. I love everything that alienware offers but since its under dell it scares the crap out of me.
Im aware that you can uninstall the dell trackpad drivers and let win7 install the drivers for you... But everyone said it made a better experience but still sucks pretty much.
Is there likely to be a fix for this issue? Because I mostly enjoy using the track pad instead of mouse.
Or is this most likely hardware related?
Thank You

Up to Synaptics.

Its both hardware and material used to make the trackpad related. Just face it: Trackpad of All Powerful series sucks haaard! So do yourself a favor and buy a mouse.
I myself find it much more comfortable using my Logitech VX Nano than the trackpad. Since it has some programable buttons I can let my back resting on the chair, put the mouse on my thigh surfing web, zooming, adjusting volume or doing some easy task. That in combination with FastestFox add-on I reduce time spending on keyboard a lot. -
I use the windows default drivers for the touch pad. works much better than dell driver.

^^ Thank you for that recommendation. I uninstalled the stupid Synaptics and let Windows 7 install driver for me. Work much better now

The trackpad always sucked. The trackpad on my old m15x sucks as well. Either use a mouse or learn how to not use a pointer

Why would you even prefer a mouse over a trackpad? Even on the go or with the laptop on my lap, I just use my mouse on top of it.
The ONLY case where I'd prefer using a trackpad is with a large, multi-touch one like on MacBooks that actually WORKS WELL. -

Very same here Evil
My M17x is large enough to be a mousepad. And the only trackpad that can be considered as mouse replacement is MBP trackpad

well I absolutely love my studio XPS 1340's track pad.. the size of the track pad itself is very small but its very responsive and multi touch works great.
I asked if anyone knew whether they are going to fix this issue, I dont need to be convinced by using a mouse. Sure for gaming I will use a mouse... but I am very used to the track pad idea and would be happy if I had a properly work one from a high end laptop. -
when i unittall the track pad driver will win 7 automaticly tell me that there is hardware that needs to be instaled and find the driver for it
or do i have to manualy load the driver ? -

It will do it job just fine, automatically. It wont even ask you if you want to install that driver
IS there going to be a fix for M15X trackpad?
