I wonder why Alienware removed this feature. When I bought my M17-R1 it came with an Alienware Windows Vista CD installer, Support CD (drivers and software) and Factory image (with every software that I order it), this one is my favorite since I just have to insert it and after half an hour I have my M17-R1 exactly how I received it back in 2009.

I went ahead and supported this idea, being one of the guilty party of not taking a backup out-of-the-box I see how handy this could be. I too would be willing to fork out a few extra quid/dollars

Its much cheaper and easier to just supply the base dvd for win7 and a link to download drivers.
Now, if alienware supplied USB flash drives that we could image our own systems onto, that would be sweet.

We have D-USB for the MLK systems but we send them for troubleshooting purposes only. It would be cool to have those sent all the time.

With the price of these keys large enough to hold the image ordered on mass it would not be too expensive, but people will loose them or overwrite them lol.
