After all I went thru to get the M17x, and the decision to sell it then having 2-3 people back out. So I decided to keep it now my wife is bugging me to go ahead and sell it. I am not making any rash decisions about it right now though. I wanna spend atleast a week with it.

Joker may remember a recent post of his where he said that unboxing was overrated, and to a certain extent he was right. I put a lot of effort and time on the phone and in emails with Dell making sure this was taken care of in a timely manner. It still took me over a month to get it delivered. So when it finally did get here it was kinda .... meh.

I want to be very clear on this, I do like this laptop it is a work of art and I do not want to sell it. My wife is wanting me to sell. if I get the right offer yea I would be willing to part with it, at this time I am not actively seeking a buyer.

Dell really does suck all the enjoyment out of this purchase with all the delays and build time required to get one. They should offer 3 builds (low, med, high spec) with 24 hr shipping. I had the same feeling when it finally got here and the roller coaster ride was over. But, mine is not going anywhere! It is the perfect laptop for me! yomv

    PWNED ^2

After dealing closely with Lenovo, Dell and HP - Dell is the least evil of all, trust me.
Don't let the "communication" be the reason for selling a uber-mega-product.

Actually, she doesn't use computers at all, well very rarely. She only has a free yahoo email no because she is working on her resume. I had to show her how to get to ms word and how to save files to the jump drive I bought her about 3 years ago that she has never used.

Only 1~ month of wait time.. thats nothing compared to other people and the frustration they've had on the phone with Dell. And damn if my wife would tell me to sell my m17x after i told her i was buying one and after i just got it... id donate all her shoes to the red cross lol....

Since you just got it just return it and take the 15% hit, either way your still under the return time. If someone were to buy it you might lose more than 15% of your original purchase price. Looks like either way you can't keep it anyways.

Agreed. If you guys wanna cry about ship time try ordering a thinkpad. Mine took well over a month to arrive and the laptop wasn't new or had any shipping/supply delays. When I configured and ordered my vostro I had it at my door in less then a week from configuring it.

But I will say this: Marriage>laptop hands down. A laptop no matter how awesome or rare it is will never be as rare as a good wife, and no a wife wanting her husband to sell a VERY expensive laptop in tough economical times is not outrageous deal.

I hate HP for not fixing my hinge issue on my pavillion! They even denied it was a factory/design issue...

So far for top 10 customer service, I woud't buy a HP anymore...
Dell is much better on this area!

Things are ok here money wise, yea I've lost some hours at work but my bills are still getting paid.

    I didn't buy the M17x, it's a warranty replacement for my XPS M1730.

Everyone should stop targeting Live2ride. Its not your business why his wife wants to sell it or if he is having financial problems. He was just expressing his dilemma.

He could probably make a profit off of it since its a replacement. However, if he decides to buy another one he would lose money.

Live2ride - if you don't need such a big/powerful machine... you could sell it make a profit and get the 15x or even the 11x... maybe that will change the wife's perspective

The m17x is a great machine. Yeah you should hold off until you get a real offer.

I'm fortunate to have both a great wife and a great laptop lol...

Ramatar, Thanks for the back up, truth is I am not sure if I want to sell it or not. If I did sell it I would not buy another gaming laptop. Make no mistake this thing is a beast and I do like it. But I have been out of gaming for a couple of years (I think the last pc game I bought was pop: the two thrones). I have recently started gaming again on the PS3, 360, and Wii. Slowly I am also getting back into pc gaming, I have loaded tiger woods 08, FSX, and POP but the amount of time I spend gaming on it is minimal so far. Maybe that will change, maybe it won't but in the mean time I am willing to entertain offers.

This machine has in home care with accidental damage coverage until 2013. Anyone that has this coverage understands the peace of mind that comes with knowing that no matter what goes wrong it will be covered.

Just for those feeling the need to comment about my wife.. I definitely married up.

here was only pulling your leg bud nothing personal was ever intended, for the record my missus wasnt overly pleased on the 2 a/w laptops ive brought in the past as she dosent understand about the power needed to play games etc, but shes got over it now..... just in time for me to buy new one next cple of weeks he! he!... this is why i made the statement as in her head how does my daughters laptop cost £400 and my laptop cost £2000.

    :)

I didn't take anything personal, I was just responding to the comment. I just bought my son an ASUS K6 so I certainly understand the price differences between a "kids" pc and an "adults". My son wouldn't mind me swapping him laptops at all.

I was just discussing the continued dilemma that the circus around it has caused and my disbelief that it didn't end once I received the M17x.

to be honset they are for most an expensive toy and you have to be really into games i think to be wanting a laptop like the ones on here, as im using my daughters at the mo and can do anything else i want expect play games, and i know im no kid no more but its how i roll. :)

could just flog the k6 and give it to your son and say its his birthday present+xmas present lol.... ( might save money in the long run as these things tend to plummet in price when new tec is added).

Send a few emails, a couple of spread sheets and maybe a progress report or 2, you might also want to watch a few training videos. Or you can just play more games, they increase hand/eye coordination and that increases productivity.

Just ordered mine :)... -.- 15 days waiting time... The misses sen the bank statement on my bike and made me cancel it, as I knew she would, and I also knew this would result in 4-5 days hard negotiations where she felt she won just by changing my decision but still conceded in allowing another purchase.. I believe, I played a Check mate game. throughout the negotiations it was agreed I could spend MY money on a new laptop.... hehe > :) she fell str8 into my cunning plan mwhahahahaha.
