Is it possible to install such things in the the PCI Express slot ? Since you can get it for cheap now, maybe one of those 2 would fit :

    or

Anyone did it ? Is it easy ? Can you do it if you have 2 vids cards and 2 hard drives already ?

    Thanks !

i hear that unless you have low memory capacity the advantages of Intels turbo boost are very small, and some people say its entirly worthless.

On a top rig like a m17 i wouldnt expect it to be any good, hence the cheap price.

Intel/Kingston is about to release a 40gb SSD for about 100 on newegg.
For some reason, I have in my head that M17 doesn't do well with 2 different drives. But if someone can set me straight. The 40gb would be great to pair with a regular hard drive.
But since you already have raid, you might not want to do that.

Don't think you can boot from ExpressCard. Typically BIOS lacks support for registering a storage device via ExpressCard.

If you can store 3 drives in your system, you can leave the RAID alone and use it for data storage, while the SSD for the OS/programs.
