For those that are interested, there is a desktop version that provides SSD RAID0 TRIM support that is working fine on the M18x under Windows 7. Below is information from a discussion from another thread where a few of us began testing it. Posting a notice here in the main forum for those that want to try it and discuss the results.

Download it here: Intel® Rapid Storage Technology Driver for Intel Desktop Boards - even though this was intended for desktop boards, it's working great.

Just curious but are you able to launch the intel RST app? After a few install and uninstall mine always shows error.

Yes, no problem. Are you sure you have the correct 11.1.0.1006 desktop version installed? (11.5 beta has issues, including problems with the RST app.) I originally posted a link to the ThinkPad beta for Windows 8 and that one does not work properly. The version linked in the opening post is working good for me and Stevie Jones on the M18x.

ok i'm little bit confused. the link is for the desktop version and you guys seem to be saying it works fine on M18x and M17x? does M18x and M17x have desktop version of intel chipset, rather than notebook version of chipset?

No. It's just fortunate that this desktop version is also working for mobile platforms too, right now. I am pretty confident that there will be a mobile release of the RST that will officially support RAID 0 TRIM for SSD's fairly soon...until then, this version seems to be working just fine.

The Intel Extreme Tuning Utility (XTU) is designed for certain desktop motherboards, and it also provides some added functionality with the M18x and M17x.

    Hey guys!
Any issues using TRIM in RAID 0?
    Does it increase the latency?
Maybe TRIM in RAID0 doesn't do such a good job as does TRIM with a single drive?
Is TRIM supported in RAID1 SSDs?

No issues that I have found. Everything seems to be working peachy.

Not sure about RAID1 TRIM support, as I don't use RAID1. Intel probably has a white paper on the subject that would tell you.

Hey Fox. Can you do some testing regarding the RAID 0, TRIM support on WIN 7 for this driver?

I know some other threads who were using the 11.5 Alpha did some screens where they looked at the HEX-VALUES of a large test file to see if the TRIM was actually working (replacing with 00 's)...

Also it seems like the official WHQL 11.2 is out now -

    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Det...Desktop+Boards"&DownloadType=Drivers&lang=eng

don't know whats the difference between that and the original 11.1...
