    Hi all,
Basically I'm in the process of setting up my recent upgrades and at the moment I'm trying to set up SSD. I know I can do a clean install but I am determined to get the alienware recovery working. I have tried everything but I keep getting the same problem, I need a hard drive at least 298GB in size and my SSD is only 80GB. I have tried wintoflash as someone said it worked but I can't get it to work, I've cloned the 320GB hard drive onto the SSD and made a recovery disk but it still asks for a 298GB hard drive. Please if anyone has any ideas it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

I had the same prob with my SSD 128. I ended up draging all the Alienware files I wanted to a usb. then reinstalled Win7 on the SSD. Then put all the usb files back on set every thing up and used then Dell data datasafe local for my back up and put that on a usb. Then I made a back up on my second hard drive, in case the SSD ever fails.
    Hope that helps. :D

So basically you did a clean install, installed everything back, and then used datasafe to make a backup onto a USB. Is that right? That's what I was thinking, just do a clean install and set everything up, then make a backup and use that almost as a recovery.
