    How big of a difference do you guys think a 7820hk vs a 8820hk(?) would be in performance and cooling ?

    One thing we do know is that the base frequency is relatively low for the hexa core to stay in the same TDP envelope....depending on turbo boost to reach higher frequencies. We will have to wait and see how well the turbo boost can be maintained within the TDP limits. I imagine single thread will get the usual 5-10% boost and multi thread will see a bigger jump with the extra cores.

    It seems like the first benchmark leak for H series coffee lake, with 6 cores and 2.6GHz base clock....multi core performance is really good, as expected for the extra cores, single core not much gain, but expected because of the lower base clock. The question remaining on how well it can maintain turbo boost.

    Preliminary results for the i5-8250U are in, and they are pretty good for a 15w chip. Single core performance is good and multi core very good, however after a sustained work load, it can´t sustain the high turbo boost clocks, and it settles at lower a boost frequency, which is expected because of the power limit. A bit surprising, it manages to be very power efficient even compare to the 7th generation U chips. Waiting to see what the HQ chips can do.
