I just noticed today, that the max resolution you can get from the internal GFX is 1600x1200.

I operate the HighRes Display (1920x1200) so obviously the internal card is next to useless.

I am currently trying to setup a *very* power-efficient configuration and thought switching to the internal GFX card might give me some extra boost.

Finally it seems it does not work for me as I loose precious screen resolutions.

Wow I did not know that. In the future when people ask about this I will let them know. That is very strange that you have to limit your resolution when you use the integrated graphics. Let us know if you find a way around it.

...? I'm confused. I've been running my WUXGA screen on the Intel chip. Sure, it gets slow at times (go crappy Intel chips!), but it does run at full resolution....

The m15x's 8800 keeps the full clocks on when not gaming, but if you want to downclock them without going to integrated you can use stealth mode which will downclock the 88. Despite that, there is still a significant power gain to be had by going to integrated (Chaz outlines it in his review)

@rambler - Maybe you should try re-installing some of your drivers. It could be a weird driver issue.
