ugh ok so i was cleaning my computer up and all i remember uninstalling is the java scripts. because i had java 5,6, and 7 so i uninstalled 5 and 6 and left 7 and for some reason i cant get on the internet anymore and every computer in this house can. so what do i do or driver do i need to install?
and i updated the Marvell Yukon Gigabit Ethernet and Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG & 4965AGN (v12.1.0.14)
i have the Alienware M9750
-
Did you accidentally turn off the switch for wireless on the case?
-
no i checked that too, i even directly hooked it up to the internet modem
-
1) run->cmd.exe
____a) ipconfig /all
print the output... you might want to hide your IPs
2) run->msinfo32.exe->components->Problem devices
see if there are any problem devices
3) run->devmgmt.msc
see if you find any device without driver or with an exclamation sign -
1.
2. dont know what im looking for there are a bunch of "not available" though
3. no missing or drives with question marks on them -
good so you have couple of problem device
that means missing drivers or not loaded properly. fire up msinfo32 again and go to file->save, zip it up and attach it here for me to have a look at it.
-
your Connection 10 is fcuked. no mac address, is it a dummy connection?
your Connection 12 is just disconnected.
I don't see you have a wireless adapter.
Maybe, uninstall the drivers again and install, and see any yellow mark in device manager. Check if they are no fried in the device manager. -
ok i got it zipped how do i upload it to you?
-
attach to this thread.. in case you dont know how to do that. hit go advanced and add attachment

you need to run msinfo32.exe and then open it from there. I can open it under Vista.
try to do this in following order
IPCONFIG /release
IPCONFIG /flushdns
IPCONFIG /renew
IPCONFIG /registerdns
NBTSTAT -R (in caps)
NBTSTAT -RR (in caps) -
findvikas could you open it? and where do i put those commands in to
-
in CMD. 10 chars
-
i did the commands... and this is what i got

ok now on the cmd of
NBTSTAT -R and NBTSTAT -RR it says refreshed and purged, but i still cant get on the net -
the pic u post stats that your wireless and giga net adapter is not present.
go to device manager to check if they are ok or exist at all. -
i bet thats the problem there just not there anymore, because the devise manger isn't saying i have a problem with any driver. where can i go down load them
-
not sure, i usually go google for it.
-
what would i google idk where to start
-
ok here is a pic of my devise manger what am i missing?

uninstall the intel and marvel adapter from there and reboot
-

good, at least your computer know you have the adapter.
I think there are another problem change some setting of your drivers.
Do all 3 windows suggested, if they all dont work, then you have to reinstall windows, if that still doesn't work, then your hardware needs to be replaced. -
ok i can connect when i hook up to the router with a cable but my wireless still wont work. what dose i mean when is says media is disconnected on all my connections, should it be like that?
-
probably not, since "disconnected" is not what we want
ahem. could it be that your wifi card is lose, or not connected properly any more? -
so your sayin take the cover off the bottom of my computer to see if its disconnected
-
very much so. not very likely, but easier than re-installing the OS
Internet quit working after...
