I bought it and then returned it because it was wayyyy too small. It's around the same size as my Razer that I never use.

Go G9X imo ...best mouse ever and it matched Alienware laptops quite well.

Depends on your hands. If your hands are large, go with the G9X, if your hands are tiny/small, go with Razer/TactX.

I personally prefer the G9X since there's interchangeable grips for hand sizes and weights. It's a very light mouse too :)

It all comes down to the perfect fit for your hand size and if you prefer light or heavy mouses.

I have it too, cord was too long so I cut it down to 20 inches.

I have a Logitech G9x and i love it. Size is somewhat adjustable with the 2 grips and different weight sets. I think $100 for the Tactx is just too much. Not only that but the fact that, as mentioned before, the G9x matches the Alienware naturally is a plus.

The LED lights on my mouse are blue and perfectly match the blue lights on my M15x.

Oh, and i almost forgot, i got this mouse at Best buy for about... i think $60.

If I'm not mistaken the Tactx is a G9x made specifically for Alienware. The Tactx does not have the interchangeable grips or weights though. Plus that's why the LED's on the G9x match with the Alienware light colours as mentioned by ArchNemesis.

i have the tactx and prefer the orochi to it. I don't like the scrolling wheel on logitech mice, so the alienware stays in the drawer.
photo size compare of the two.

I got one free when I bought by laptop. I must admit, I like it a lot. As already mentioned the cord is WAY too long (I don't really need ~50ft of cable for my mouse, I mean come on..) but I find it very comfortable and functional. I must admit, after about 4 months owning it I broke one of the thumb buttons (Mouse 4, I believe) in a mad spamming episode. But it wasn't too bad. I absolutely love those thumb buttons so I was glad I had a backup (Mouse 5). Until it also broke about an hour after the first...

I'd still recommend it though. Just don't spam those delicate thumb buttons.

The cord is like 6 feet long when you get it, if you just cable wrap it the fabric covering starts to stretch and gets all ugly looking when the rubber cable pops out of it. Also, if you cable wrap it after a few weeks you will never be able to open the cable all the way.

To shorten the cable up you need to take it apart, cut the cable and reconnect it together. The cable plugs into the mouse board so its super easy to work with.

All the screws are under the skid pads under the mouse, you can just push the screw driver thru the pads or you can order new pads (get the new ones in your hand before you remove the old ones)

The TactX mouse is only really worth it if you can either get it at discount or bundled with some Alienware package.

The chassis was built by Logitech for Alienware, so you get the "best" of both worlds - a really decent mouse with the effects from Alienware (AlienFX). However, because it's a rebranded device, you pay the premium.

Additionally, you cannot interchange the grips from the g9x to the tactx.
