One of the complaints of the m15x is the flimsy cheap plastic feel to it. Because apparently there is no way to see one in person without buying it, is there any other products I can see in stores that could give me the basic idea?

EXAMPLE: A (Insert item here) feels like a m15x.

To the touch, it doesn't really feel cheap, it's when you start moving the screen that you hear typical plastic creaking..I'm trying to think of an analogy to the plastic creaking sound/feel when you move the screen but it's pretty hard..

The painted plastic feels like a freshly painted car. If you lift from the center (putting your thumb on the web cam) there is little to no creak, on mine anyway.
I think the hinge it screwed on too tight, causing plastic on plastic contact. but the lids flimsiness fells like a big sheet of plastic. I don't think there is any metal framework in the lid.

The m15x (to me) feels like the HP Pavilion dv9000/9700. I am not sure if they have the same plastic but they do feel the same.

Keep in mind it's been months since I returned my m15x. I remember it feeling sort of like my LG cell phone in terms of the plastics.

Well... if you ask... A friend of mine put it in this way "It feels like a big cheap chinese plastic toy". I don't really know exactly what she meant...

the glossy part which is what you will be touching feels like touching the front of the RAZR2.
